Water resource is limited. All countries in the world are taking measures to save water. Water pipeline detection can save much water. In China, pipeline detection is one more important subject. The research, development, and application of water pipeline detection are attatched much importance. To save water resource and promote detection level.the subject of this paper is to fabricate a brain detection apparatus and do research on water leakage acoustic signal process. Traditional detection apparatus works basing the judgement of human ears. This can bring much shortcoming because of experiment limition. The apparatus fabricated in the paper is applying DSP chip as the process core. Many process methods are applied in this apparatus. So the appatatus can detect leakage exactly.At first, the paper introduces the application of DSP in the design. The character of DSP chip and TMS320VC5402 are described in details. The communication of DSPand AVR is introduced as well. The paper also describes the character of AVR signal chip processor and Bootloader technology. In this design, AVR is the control center core, it control LCD, keyboard, etc. All this design is introduced in the paper.Secondly, the paper does much research on water leakage acoustic signal hardware and software process methods. FFT and self-correlation are applied in the design and embeded in DSP chip TMS320VC5402.Apply the above methods, the brain detection apparatus are fabricated .The apparatus needs a little power and can be used handly, moreover the apparatus can filter different noise by different channel choice. So the apparatus can detect water leakage spot and learn more information about spot.
