The limited height of the loaded railway freight cars'gravity center is an important standard in the loading and fastening rules of railway freight. Because of the shortage of experiments and researches in such fields, this standard is conservative in China. The mismatch between the standard and the condition of the rail and vehicles leads to a low efficiency in the usage of the railway. Therefore, renew the limited height of the loaded railway cargo vehicle's gravity center reasonably can raise the capacity of vehicle's loading and railway fright, especially in the circumstances that rail capacity shortage is increasing day by day. Sharp curve is a weak link in the rail, being a terrible condition for the vehicles with low speed and unsafe running. Reasonably work out the standard must obtain the deeply research of the process that vehicles running through the sharp curves. The study of this thesis is spread around this question. In this thesis, we regard the derailment coefficient, and rate of wheel load reduction as the safety assessment standard. This thesis summarizes the correlated study in domestic foreign, analyzes the mainly safety factors of freight cars from line circumstance, vehicle structure and using circumstance three aspects, Then introduces the derailment models and the models of rate of wheel load reduction, According to the test data got from Jingcheng Line, by the methods of doing statistics and analysis of the test data, we discuss the derailment coefficient and the rate of wheel load reduction when the railway freight car with different velocity and radius running on sharp curves respectively. On that basis, we analyze the relationships between stability indicators and speed, superelevation of outer rail, or overbalanced superelevation. At last, the thesis summarizes the safety technical requirements of vehicles whose gravity center height is under 2400mm run through sharp curves.
