As time progress, the development of urban functions and public transport also forms into a complex network. The distribution area of public transport is not only an important node in urban public transport network, but also an important component. The high-density transferring flow between different modes of transportation constitutes the main activities within the region, thus, the guidance system, as public facilities for people, plays a key and irreplaceable function. And with the strengthening of the inter-disciplinary and complexity of the traffic distribution and integrated region, the identity-oriented systems also have a new era demands. Shanghai Railway Passenger Station as a developing modem urban public transport and long-term distribution area with a high density has typical research significance.This article analyzes the destinations passengers may go to from Shanghai Railway Passenger Station, such as railway stations, rail transit stations, bus stations, bus stops, taxi stations, the directional signs to these places, the old and new orientation Information contrast of 2008 and 2010, thereby shows the process of stylish, from the chaotic inefficiency gradually standardized.Furthermore, the paper analyzes the identity-oriented system of distribution area from the two points of view:its' functionality and characteristics.Distribution area, from the traffic point of view, its main function is to provide effective and fast guidance for the people from different region, thus the efficiencies of these directional signs is the primary object of analysis. This paper analyzes the logo itself, its environmental and psychological behavior of pedestrians on the orientation effect, and the distribution of directional signs on the impact of abortion. This survey of more than 300 directional signs, available in shanghai New Railway Station, makes a detailed record of all its effects-oriented features, including location, direction, height and elevation, alignment, color, material, etc., taking pictures and statistical analysis. Based on above data and analysis, this paper further analyzes efficiency, issues and proposes some improving methods.From the perspective of identity-oriented, this article divides them into three main areas of its functional properties:one, oriented features, identified by the location, placement, size, height and distribution, including the handling of public information fields; second, assistance and Promotion, including standardized, color, digital, technology, human issues, as well as the combination of the business environment and other factors; third, design style is mainly reflected as a systematic design-oriented identity, image, culture, and fusion with the surrounding environment. In this paper, taking the example of Shanghai railway station area, through the comparison with mature system abroad, performs advanced analysis on the above characteristics, and a detailed and careful analysis on the traffic distribution area of directional signs.Last but not least, combining the above analysis, the paper finally come to three conclusions toward the orientation distribution area for the traffic sign system:first, the traffic distribution area of identity-oriented system design and improvement must be to enhance the effect of target-oriented, and a regional Systems analysis; Second, standardization, and the color of the other auxiliary features can enhance the overall effect of identity-oriented system. Third, coordination of art and environmental design can produce better identification guide, and reflect the region and the city's spirit.This study is not to provide a standardized distribution area of traffic-oriented system identification methods, neither to provide a universal design of directional signs, but rather trying to through the systematic studies, detailed comparison analysis, to supplement the traffic distribution area Identity-oriented system, providing improving and construction directions for current and future oriented system in traffic distribution area.
