China’s railway transportation is about to complete the transformation to the era of high-speed railway, and the design mode of large urban high-speed railway stations is also in urgent need of transformation. In recent years, with the continuous expansion of the railway transportation network,a large number of high-speed railway station houses have been built along the railway, and their design mode is constantly updated. At the present stage, the design mode pursues the “integration of stations and cities”.However,in the actual operation and use of large high-speed railway stations in China,it is found that there are still some limitations and deficiencies, such as monotonous space closure, internal and single function, and unconnected corridors. In order to solve the existing problems in the design of large high-speed railway station, this paper puts forward the design mode of “city block-oriented” based on the national conditions and the development of the times to make high-speed railway stations as free and open as city blocks, with complex functions, comfortable convenient and efficient space,so that passengers and citizens can share diversified space of the station, truly realizing “station and city integration”.Four “city blockoriented” design strategies of high-speed railway stations are proposed, including constructing open pedestrian system, constructing shared urban complex, optimizing public space experience, and constructing efficient transfer system.“New city corridor”,“open waiting mode”,“city hall”,“vertical garden system”,“transfer center” and other specific innovative design means are applied to enhance the attraction and vitality of high-speed railway stations, and improve operating efficiency and comfort. In the research and design of Hefeixi railway station, the “city block-oriented”design mode of high-speed railway station is applied to further verify and interpret the proposed design strategy and method.
