"Slow Design" Research Under The Sustainable Development

"Slow design" came into form in the recent decade, and still in the stage of developing and improvement. It considers design should balance the overall interests of personal demand, economic, cultural and ecological environment. It advocates the "slow life" attitude, and focus on creating "continuous now", aims to make a comprehensive and coordinated developing society. "Slow design" thinks design must be responsible for high-speed metabolism of human society. At this point, "slow design" has guiding significance on sustainable development. Through deeply analysis of the "slow design", we can better understand the essence of design, and promote sustainable development comprehensively.In the background of analyzing current social status and design patterns, this thesis discuss the formation and developing of "slow design", explain the meaning and purpose of it in terms of lifestyle, economic, cultural and environmental aspects. Meanwhile in the basis of theoretical analysis of "slow design", combining the requirement of sustainable development, through self reorganization and the understanding, "slow design" proposed three sustainable conception points with practical detailed explanation: design slow social metabolism, encourage behavior changes, catalyze social and cultural transformation. At last, through practical significance and prospect, this thesis demonstrates the feasibility of the "slow design", with famous brand design of "slow design" concept and practical project, discuss the future development trends of "slow design".
