The Research On Education Mode Of Major Of Furniture Design In Forestry University

This paper analyses the essence of furniture design (FD) and furniture design education (FDE) proceeding from a preliminary review of the basic definition such as furniture, design, FD, design education, FDE, and deeply surveys the requirement of the talent in local China. The paper also analyses series of cases and problems in the current situation of FDE in Forestry University, in which an educational mode about FD in higher school is also considered.The author argues that the system of FDE is based on the real study in both FD and FDE theory, pointing out that the furniture products include many forms, showing that the FD is a complex design type which includes the product design, the environment design and the art design, etc. In the view of this study, FDE is considered to be a complex and special educational form which mainly shows the characters of ID.According to this paper, the complex and innovative talents are welcome to work in furniture industry, which requires ten kinds of abilities such as creatively solving the problems, cooperation spirit, model-making, CAD, shapes design, design drawings, color and texture feel, market strategy management, communicative ability, knowing about the materials and its parts, furniture sale, etc, by order.The higher education of forestry aims at cultivating the main force of China' s furniture design and manufacture talents. However, there are still some problems in the course of education. This is mainly demonstrated in such aspects as equaling wood science and technology to furniture project technology, regarding of design education as a simple compound of technology and science, disjointing special education with social demands, etc.Recently, the core of the reform of FDE in forestry higher education correctly balances the relationship between wood science technology and furniture project technology as well as the relationship between the basic education of industry design and furniture specialized education.
