Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) is the most effective way to control the pollution. Using ACF for flue gas desulfurization (Activated Carbon Fiber Process, for short ACFP)is a novel FGD technologies. Three-phase reactor is the key for the industrialization of ACFP.kinetics of flue gas desulfurization with ACF under three- phase system have been researched. The mechanism of the flue gas desulfurization with ACF has also been examined,on the basis of which a novel mechanism has been included.Different concrete structures of Fabric Bed Reactor have been researched taking into account the characteristic of ACF and the necessary of flue gas desulfurization. New forms of the ACF bed have also been determined. The hydrodynamics performance of Trickled-bed Reactor loaded with ACF is analyzed. Some new results are achieved through the contrast among different loading forms of ACF.A new three-phase reactor of ACFP has been designed. The experiments of the gas-liquid Cross Flow three-phase Reactor include: hydrodynamics; factors effecting bed pressure. Design parameters of Cross Flow Reactor are calculated theoretically. The results of experiments accord with theoretic calculation considerably.Besides some suggestions are given for further research.
