Geometrinae belongs to Insecta, Lepidoptera, Geometridae. About 270 genera and 2440 species were known from the world. At present 373 species belong to 64 genera have been known in China. Geometrinae has abundant species and was distributed in all over the world. Many of them are important pests of forestry production and have important economic significance. A systematic study of Geometrinae (Lepidoptera:Geometridae) in Northeast China were dealt with in this paper. There were three sections in this paper. Introduction, as the first section, introduced the classification overview of Geometrinae in China and other countries. Meanwhile the morphology and biological habits of Geometrinae were described and summarized. The second section was the systematic classification. According to the specimens and literature recorded, 17 genera and 47 species of Geometrinae in Northeast China were recorded, including 2 new species:Agathia subcarissima sp. nov., Hemistola dongbeiensis sp. nov. and 10 new record species of Northeast China. The identification characteristics of genera and species were given, the keys to genera and species were also provided. Detailed morphological characteristics of all the species were depicted, providing adult and genitalia photos of all the examined species. The third section was result and discussion. This paper provided the theoretical basis for systematic study of Geometrinae in China. Moreover, it has great importance in guiding the agricultural and forestry pests control and the protection of biodiversity in Northeast China. All the examined specimens were deposited in the Insect Collection of Northeast Forestry University, China.
