GIS Software Plantform Design And Development For Geographic Information Technology Teaching In Senior Middle School

This paper first reviews the geographic information technology education and software application status in geography education in our county. Then the author attempts to develop a simple and practical geographic information technology software platform for basic education of geography and applies its functions to geography teaching by designing some samples, hope to supply some references for favoring implement of geographic information technology education and the reform of basic education mode of geography. This soft is developed under the technical system of the component GIS SuperMap Objects 2008 and the objected programming tool Visual Basic.net 2005 and the Janus WinForms Controls V3.Based on the required text 3 and elective text 7 of senior middle school geography curriculum standards,this geographic information technology software designs the functions in detail, consist of 9 main functions: date input and output, displaying, mapping, attribute data management, editing, symbolization, querying, analyzing, map library. The map library include vector date of world, China, Guangdong province, Guangzhou City, rural area of Guangzhou, nansha district of Guangzhou, and also include map of the world, the world surface ocean currents, and the land zone, climate type, sea level pressure distribution lines in January and July; provincial and county level administrative map of China, the map of China's rivers, major railways and major roads; and the administrative map of Guangdong province, the map of population, transportation, tourist, mountains, mineral resources, nature reserves, annual average temperature and average precipitation of Guangdong province; and the districts of Guangzhou city, the remote sensing images and land use map of nansha district, a total of 25 vector maps.This paper is also teaching the application of the software, which includes the characteristics and principles of the geographic information technology teaching application, some demonstrations which apply functions to geography course. This software has the following characteristics: (1) contact with texts closely, realize and simple the function of GIS; (2) many kinds of map and some map with regional characteristics; (3) a beautiful and friendly interface based on office 2003; (4) easy to learn and find help.
