Landscape Evaluation Of Urban River

With the economic growth and continuous improvement of living standards, people have put forward higher requirements for urban river management which contain not only flood control, drought security but also the improvement of waters of the landscape and the ecological environment that can provide more hydrophilic, leisure and entertainment space. Until Now, many cities have carried out river regulation as well as coastal landscape management project according to what states above.Yi tong River, as the mother river of Changchun, had once brought the most primitive civilizations, but also brought some flood disasters. Since 1986, The government has been launching a series of comprehensive rehabilitation projects on topography, landscape and vegetation.Through the study of treatment effect, the research can not only verify the treatment effect but also provide a further treatment advice.According to management goal, this research divide the city section of Yi tong River into five evaluation areas: urban forest area, cultural landscape district, leisure fitness area, recreation activities area and nature area. After that, the research will survey the current situation and make a comprehensive evaluation. The method of evaluation and results are as follows :1. From the view of river's ecological health, hydrophilic and landscape suitability, the research will select the main evaluating indicator to malke further evaluation. Here is the evaluating indicators about river's ecological health: water mobility, river morphology, revetment type and riparian zone status; River hydrophilic: Slope gradient, water, health degrees, hydrophilic space, natural green space and landscape sketches; Landscape Suitability: water body morphology, riparian zone afforestation, river architecture and cultural landscape. Besides, every evaluating indicator should be classified as "excellent, good, fair and poor" four grades, and the score of"4, 3, 2, 1"will be given. So the result will be quantifyied.2. Results of the evaluation: cultural landscape area get the highest score-43 points; following is urban forest area with 38 points; then leisure fitness areas receive 32 points and recreation activities area reach 29 points; nature area range the last as 28 points. The results show that cultural landscape with the construction goals are better then the ecological health and other landscape areas can learn from the construction of cultural landscape zone method .3. Comprehensive evaluation: there are still many design defects such as the quality of water, the vertical bank protection of concrete, linearized watercourse, little hydrophilic space and so on.It is suggested that it is better to adapt ecological revetment reconstruction, reasonable hydrophilic design space and remediation architectural form near the shore and so on to enhance the overall image of Yi tong River which can provide better service for the public.
