Since the reform and opening up in1978, Mathematics education in China has made great rapid developments. Meanwhile, international communication in Mathematics education has obtained remarkable achievements. This paper is centered on the exchange of mathematics education between universities in China ,shch as Beijing Normal University, Northeast Normal University , Inner Mongolia Normal University and those in Japan ,shch as ,Osaka Kyoiku University, University of Yamanashi and Kyoto University, investigating the process of communication, personal exchanges, academic activities, international cooperation in this field and its influence. The paper adopts documentary research method and is divided into five parts. The main contents are as follows:1.It briefly discusses the purpose and significance of the paper, It introduces the researches by scholars at home and abroad in this field as well as the research methods and innovations in the paper.2.Based on the brief introduction to the history of the communication between China and Japan in Mathematics education and Mathematics education of the two countries before 1978, this part discusses the exchange activities between china and japan carried out by the researchers represented of Ma Zhonglin from Northeast Normal University, Zhong Shanji from Beijing Normal University ,k.Yokochi, famous Japanese mathematics educator at the begnning of the Reform and Opening up ,and its significances.3.Specific contents and research methods in the communication between China and Japan are presented systematically in detail the achievements gained in terms of part mathematics education, mathematical educational thought and method ,history of mathematics culture, history of mathematics, mathematics teaching experiments and history of mathematics education.4.It discusses the construction of international cooperative research team in international cooperation between China and Japan in the field of mathematics education and its fruit, focusing on international conferences, co-published books ,and magazines.5.It mainly states the significant influence that sino-japanese mathematics communication has had on mathematics education in the two countries, namely, the influence of k.Yokochi mathematics educational thought and method and integrative study in mathematics by professor Tetsuo Matsumiya had on mathematics education in China; the influence of mathematics educational thought by the scholars of the older generation such as Ma Zhonglin, Zhong Shanji and Lidi as well as the their research on history of mathematics and history of mathematical culture had on mathematics educational in Japan.
