Improving teaching quality is all types of schools' eternal theme for their school running. Guangxi is located in economically underdeveloped area, so how to improve the teaching quality and how to train qualified talents become very important issues for every university in Guangxi, especially the new regular colleges since 2000. College Physics, one of the basic subjects of science and technology major in universities, is absolutely necessary for training talents who can serve the society. Therefore, how to improve the teaching quality of this subject is college physics teacher's working emphasis. According to teaching practice, the writer makes a deep study on the present teaching situation of College Physics of non-physics major in undergraduate colleges in Guangxi. This thesis consists of four parts.In the first part, based on the literature research, the basic teaching factors are studied influencing upon College Physics teaching effect, including: studying factors influencing upon College Physics, teachers' teaching artistic application(language application, guidance of learning methods, scientific assessment), teaching method, teaching means, teaching syllabus, teaching aim, teaching material use, teaching idea renewal ect.In the second part, the questionnaire is performed to survey 13 college physics teachers and 379 non-physics major students who learn College Physics among Hechi University, Baise University and Wuzhou University which are located in different areas in Guangxi and upgraded at different time, from which the conclusion is drawn to be analyzed about the present learning and teaching situation of College Physics in these three universities. The investigation results show that College Physics of undergraduate specialty has been offered in the above-mentioned newly-upgraded universities, but it is not long since they became regular colleges, so there exist some problems in undergraduate College Physics. These problems results from the following three aspects: firstly, it is common that students take less interest in College Physics and hold halfhearted attitude toward learning, which results in their poor ability to solve related problems and to self study. Secondly, teachers' teaching methods and teaching means are monotonous; the link of exercise checking and marking is weak; the class teaching of College Physics is not lively; teaching syllabus of College Physics is not complete and practical teaching link is weak. Thirdly, there are more complicated theories in teaching material and less knowledge related to daily practice and up-to-date science, so it is very difficult to meet students' need. In the third part, some countermeasures are put forward for College Physics of non-physics major in newly upgraded universities in Guangxi. In the light of the existing problems in College Physics learning and teaching, the writer puts forward the following teaching suggestions for reference only: to set up a complete teaching syllabus, to rationally choose teaching methods and teaching means, to optimize every teaching link, to improve teachers' ability of teaching artistic application, to strengthen construction of teachers' rank and to enhance construction of teaching material ect.The fourth part concludes the whole thesis and the writer gives her reflection on it. The conclusion of this subject is drawn; the drawbacks existing in the research process and some problems which need further studying are put forward at the end of the thesis.
