The whole Lichuan City is the reseaching area of this article, and the key area is the National Nature Reserve of Xingdou Mountain, meanwhile Hanchi Mt., Qiyue Mt., Dam Shuishan and Xiaohe are also included. Lichuan City is located at the edge of southwest Hubei Province, it's a part of extended northeast Yungui Plateau, as the end of Daba Mt. and northwest of Wuling Mt., between 29°44′~30°39′N, 108°21′~109°18′E, with an area of about 46.2 km2. The northeast and southeast part of Lichuan is border on Enshi and Xianfeng respectively, from northwest part to southwest is adjacent with Fengjie, Yunyang, County Wan, Shizhu, Pengshui, River Qian and County Zhong. Based on fieldwork, records of specimen center and other related information, the number of seed plants in the flora consists of 145 families, 750 genera and 2028 species (including subspecies and changed species), including 6 families, 19 genera, 24 species of Gymnosperm, 139 families, 731 genera, 2004 species of Angiosperm, 1002 species of woody plants and 1026 species of herbal plants.Based on analysis of the floristic elements at species, genera and family lever, some conclusions as followed:1. The floristic elements of Lichuan area are complex. Almost all kinds of distribution types are more or less responded here. In the region, the total 145 families can be divided into 10 distribution types and 12 changed types. 750 genera can be divided into 15 types and 18 changed typed. 2028 species can be divided into 15 types and 16 changed types.2. The floristic characteristic of seed plants in Lichuan area is subtropic in nature, included in north part of sbutropic, which has obvious transition trend from subtropic zone to temperate zone. The floristic element of 61.62% tropical families (excluding the cosmopolitan species), and 36.36% temperate ones reveal dominant tropical property. 271 tropical genera (excluding the cosmopolitan species) cover 29.05% of the floristic element, and 386 temperate ones cover 55.62% of total which shows obvious temperate in nature. The floristic element of 16.93% tropical species (excluding the cosmopolitan species), 30.66% temperate ones and other 52.41% endemic species indicate the flora is mainly subtropical in nature. At the level of genera, the among tropical distribution patterns, subtropic and tropical distribution patterns are the richest. Among temperate distribution patterns, North American and East Asian are the richest. The flora of the region is closely linked with the flora of Japan. The flora of Lichuan is a part of Sino-Japanese flora and it's at the core of the flora.3. The region has some taxonomically isolated endemic families to the East Asia reflects that this flora is an older one of East Asia, and that this geological history is in accordance with that of East Asia, and is closely linked with the region place of East Asia. The endemism in the generic rank indicates that the...
