Through one century of the exploration and practice, Geophysics has alreadyevolved many branches. The enlargement of the application fields of these brancheshas promoted the speedy development of Geophysics and many kinds of practicaltechniques, such as gravity , magnetism , electricity , seismic,etc.,have been appliedinto practice. By use of these methods and techniques, we have obtained the data ofmagnanimity.How to efficiently store and manage these data has become an urgenttask facing Geophysics practitioners. the emergence and current development of GIS(Geographical Information System ) and database technology, storing and scientificallymanaging the magnanimity data have become true . "the information management platform of the comprehensive Geophysics—basedon WebGIS" applies relevant database software (Microsoft SQL Server 2000) tomanage Geophysics data. This system is composed of the following five databases:regional gravity database, regional aero magnetic database , regional physicalcharacteristics database, regional chemical characteristics database and regionalchemical exploration database. By adopting Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as developingtool and using ADO (ActiveX Data Objects) technology to access the database, it isconvinient to add, update, delete,scan and query data to the above five databases tooperate and manage the databases. To manage and operate the space data conveniently,we plugged ARCGIS components MapObject2.0 of ESRI Corporation into theMicrosoft Visual Basic 6.0 to realize some map operating functions, such as:zoom inor zoom out , fully extend, add layer, remove layers, remove active layer, spatial query,attribute query, identify features,etc.. In order to safeguard security performance of thedatabase, we made the authority limits to the users and grouped three levels of users:super users, standard users and public users. Users with different levels have differentsystem authorities to operate the system. In addition, in order to realize the release ofthe thematic layer on the net, we adopted ArcIMS4.0 products of ESRI Company toenable users to remotly access geophysics thematic layer through IE browser. This thesis has four chapters: Chapter I introduces the current research status anddevelopment trend of the Geophysics data management and the main contents of thethesis;Chapter Ⅱ includes some basic theories and technology of the systemdevelopment,such as the database, GIS, MapObjects products and ArcIMS products ofESRI Company;Chapter Ⅲ describes the structure design of five databases;ChapterⅣ depicts the frame structure of the systematic function module, design andrealization.
