Estuarine and coastal zone, which locates in the connection of river, sea and land, refers to several fields as hydrology, geology, physics, chemistry and ecology. Presently, various institutions have accumulated large numbers of data on the process of studying. Howerver, because of the absence of specification of data precision and format, it's difficult to share, which results in rebuilding and resources wasting. So it has become a problem that need to solve imperatively to organize, manage and share the existent data and dynamic acquiring data later. Along with the appearance and fast development of the WebGIS technology, it has become the best favorable solution of above problem.Presently, many WebGIS plats have come forth. By comparing and analyzing the plat, and considering the data characteristics of estuary and coast, a spatial data distribution and sharing system for estuarine and coastal data has been under construction in this paper. The system introducs ArcIMS of ESRI as WebGIS plat, ArcSDE as spatial data engine, SQLServer as data storage container, and uses ASP/ASP.NET and Crystal Report technologies as development environment. In this system, estuarine and Coastal spatial data distribution, query and the thematic map display are made available, and system security is enhanced by the designing of user accessing rights. Besides, on the base of researching popular metadata criterion home and abroad, the estuarine and coastal metadata content criterion is built in this paper, and browsing and querying core metadata functions have been finished, which can help user understand information correlative with data, and help them use data effectively.The system accelerates the sharing of estuarine and coastal spatial data, metadata and all kinds of special data, and improves management condition of estuarine and coastal data, so it has important researching significance and practical value. |
