Taxonomic Study Of The Genus Coraebus From China (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

The genus Coraebus Gory et Laporte belongs to Coleoptera , Buprestidae, Agrilinae, Coraebini. It is reported that the genus Coraebus includes approximate 300 species in the world, They are mainly distributed in Oriental region and Palaearctic region, especially in the South and the South West China , Laos and the India .In this paper, the Bellamy's taxonomic classiflcal system(2003) was introduced; Coraebus status of the classification and hierarchy, review of classification research, and perspective of ultrastructure of antennae and elytra were summarized; materials and methods, morphology, biology and economical importance were introduced in detail. Keys to subfamily, tribe and genera in the China were drawn up.According to traditionary taxonomic method , 33 species from China were described in morphological characters, and documents, synonyms, distribution of each species were listed. And keys to species were drawn up. Antennal ultrastructure of 14 genera 19 species buprestid , antennal sensilla type and distribution of Coraebus were researched by the SEM observation. This paper analysed antennal ultrastructural taxonomic value in the Buprestid. What' more, punctates on the elytra of Coraebus and its near relative genera were comparatively studied . It comes out that there are two types of sensilla trichodea , two types of sensilla basiconic andone type of sensilla chaetica . punctates on the elytra have similar character in the genus, it is like the curving concave fossa, but they have some difference on the size, density and curving degree among the different species. Furthermore, relationship of two genera is consanguineous, their punctates on the elytra are also similar . Most of Coraebus from China are distributed in South China and the South West area, few of them are distributed in the north area. they have 13 distributing model. At the same time ,in this paper, Collecting and checking the list of Coraebus from China, There are 109 species, and documents, synonyms, distribution of each species are listed.
