Taxonomic Study On The Genus Lamprodila From China (Coleoptera: Buprestidae: Poecilonotini)

The genus Lamprodila belongs to the Coleoptera,Buprestidae,Chrysochroinae,Poecilonotini.So far,110 species(subspecies)were recorded around the world,mainly distributed in the Palaearctic,Sino-Japanese,Oriental,Australasian,Sahaeo-Afrabian,and Afrotropical realm.The results show that 39species(subspecies)including 14 endemic species are distributed in China according to original literature and specimen examinations.This dissertation makes a preliminary study of Lamprodila species in China.There are two sections in this dissertation.The first section is the general introduction,which includes 5 chapters.Chapter 1refers to research background.It includes the taxonomic status of the genus Lamprodila,the main diagnostic characters,the research history,and the current situation in the world and China.Chapter 2 contains materials and methods.It mainly introduces literature sources,specimen sources,abbreviations of the collections and experimental methods of the research object.Chapter 3 is about morphology.The general morphological characters of the genus Lamprodila are described in detail and102 morphological figures are provided at the same time.Chapter 4 summarizes the biological characteristics and economic significance.Chapter 5 is on biogeography.The geographic distribution patterns of the genus Lamprodila domestic and overseas are analyzed.The second section is about taxonomy.In the taxonomic part,39 Lamprodila species in 2 subgenera are described,including 2 new record species,1 new subspecies and 1 new species.Keys to 33 species and 6 subspecies of the genus Lamprodila are given.References,descriptions,specimen examinations,distribution and type specimens collection are presented for each specie,while diagnostic characters are provided for some species.In total,40 figure plates including 9 plates of habitus(26 species),26 plates of body part(26 species)and 5 plates of aedeagus are provided.
