This paper Applied some basic methods and principles of the floristic geography and based on the composition and geography elements of the families, genera, species in plants from Hunshandake Sand, comparative study between the flora of Hunshandake Sand and Inner Mongolia floristic. The results are as follows: Hunshandake Sand diversity is abundant in this area, there are 1,057 species of seed plants in Hunshandake Sand, which belong to 351 genera and 78 families (not including cultivated plants). Among them there are about 3 families, 5 genera, 11 species, in Gymnospermeae; 14 families, 73 genera, 260 species, in Monocotyledoneae; 61 families, 273 genera, 786 species, in Dicotyledoneae, which show distribution of plants in Hunshandake Sand adapt climate zone in this basic area. Analysis of the floristic elements based on families, genera, and species shows they are very complex in Hunshandake Sand. Among the areal-types of Chinese genera of seed plants, there are 14 types and 9 subtypes in this area. Only short of Trop. Asia to Trop. Australasia disjunted. Cosmopolitan element is dominant in families, the percentage of them are 59.0% in all of families in seed plants, followed by the type of temperate. Temperate floristic elements make significant dominant in genera, in which percents of North Temperate distribution is the highest, makes up 37.2% in the total number of genera in this area. Followed the type of Old World Temperate. It is indicated that this area is obvious temperate characteristics of the flora. It is obvious permeation, intersection, transition and frangibility of the flora. Furthermore, characteristics of life form in the floristics show that perennial herb is dominant in the flora, which shows characteristics of the plant community composition The mesophyte dominate absolutely among flora from Hunshandake Sand, which shows particularity of the geographical position and environment. Moreover, it has a lower level of endemic.
