Kongtong Mountain lies in the west of Longdong Loess Plateau. It's the area where more floras are convergent, and the floral composition is complex. It connects nearby floristic areas extensively. According to the statistics, there are 680 species of seed plants, belonged to 345 genera and 88 families. The following conclusions are drawn by discussing the nature and characteristics of Kongtong Mountain.1. The seed plants of Kongtong Mountain are abundant in species, complex in geographical components, mainly consisting of temperate distribution, and typical North temperate in nature.2. The flora is transitional and is the area where more floras are convergent, but the main composition is Sino-Japan ones.3. The chief elements of Chinese endemic plants of this flora are those of North China region, the secondary ones are those of Hengduan Mountain.4. The younger elements take the dominant position, the ancient ones are fewer, and the flora occurred and developed progressively along with Himalaya and Liupan Mountain rising in the Third Period.5. The similarity coefficients between Kongtong Mountain and Liupan Mountain are the highest at the level of family, genus and species, the lower ones are those between Kongtong Mountain and Xinglong Mountain, Xiaolong Mountain and Qilian Mountain.6. The endemic elements are few. There are only 3 genera Chinese endemic seed plants in Kongtong Mountain, and no local endemic family or geneus, only 4 species(varieties) local endemic seed plants.7. The diversity of the disposition of species, community environment and resource plants is rich.8. On the basis of the distribution and physical geographical characteristics of species endemic to China, the flora of Kongtong Mountain belongs to: subregion of Loess Plateau,North China region. Si no-Japan forest subkingdom, Holarctic kingdom.
