The Studies on the Effect of Antioxidation and Blood Lipids Regulation of Alfalfa Leaf ProteinPresented by Shen Xiaoyan (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gansu Agricultural University, Lanzhou 730070)Supervised by Prof. Liu Zongping (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gansu Agricultural University. Lanzhou 730070)The purpose of this experiment is to investigate the function of alfalfa leaf protein (ALP), which contains plenty of various trace elements (Se, Cu. Fe, Mn. Zn etc.) so as the amino acids. The leaf protein used was concentrated by heat coagulation and biological extraction from alfalfa (Medicago sativa L) leaves. The growing hyperlipidemia rats with 150g?20g body weight were divided into 5 groups ,each 8~~10 animals. The effects of ALP were appreciated by determining the plasma GSH-Px activity. SOD activity, MDA content, total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG). high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Hb content, AKP activity, LDH activity, BUN content, Cr content, GH content, TS content, T4 content. The results were reported as follows.(1) ALP would increase GSH-Px activity, SOD activity, and would decrease MDA content (P<0.05, PO.01). (2)Twentieth day after the experiment, Blood lipids (TC, TG, LDL-C)was decreased.the plasma HDL-C was significantly elevated (P<0.05 or P<0.01) .These results indicated that ALP could regular blood lipids. (3) At the end of the experiment, Hb content were significantly increased (PO.05, PO.01), which appeared the positive correlation with ALP supplemented in the standard high fat diet. (4) ALP may elevate the plasma GH and highly increase GH content ( P<0.01 ) .However there was no influence on T4 content, and the statistics shows that the effect of blood lipids and antioxidation of ALP is no difference between the methods and the rate of supplemented of ALP43(P>0.05) .The rats with 100g?0g body weight were randomly divided into 4groups (each 10 animals) for toxicity by feeding high ALP content for 10 days .The results showed that ALP was nontoxic effect to rats as30%ALP', 50%ALP', 30%ALP2 and 50%ALP2 in diet. (LD50 > 62.5g/kg.b.w)Therefor, ALP contains plenty of various trace elements (Se. Cu. Fe. Mn. Zn etc.), so as the amino acids. ALP would play a role in the modulation of blood lipids, antioxidation. enhancement of Hb and had effect on content of GH and T3.
