This paper studied the effects on health condition and learning and memory function of offspring of male or pregnant SD rats which received irradiation by 2.71GHz pulses microwave. The health condition was investigated by measuring the offspring’s growth curve and blood physiological and biochemical parameter. And the learning and memory function was investigated by analyzing the offspring’s performance on the water maze test and apoptosis of hippocampus tissues. The results of the influence on offspring whose parental rats were exposed to multi-times of irradiation provided more detailed theoretical basis and experimental evidence for the safety of pulsed electromagnetic microwave exposure. In present work, the parental rats were irradiated by 2.71 GHz pulses microwave (field strength 48 kV/m, pulse width 750 ns, pulse number 200 × 10,200 × 20, respectively), and the growth during the baby offspring, the blood physiological indexes(WBC, RBC, HGB, MCHC, PLT, W-SCR), the biochemical indexes(GLU, ALT, CRE, ALB, LDH) and sexual hormone (Prog, T) in plasma, the learning and memory ability of the adult offspring were studied by means of blood analyzer and biochemical analyzer, ELIS A assay, water maze experiment, and TUNEL staining. The experimental results show that:the offspring of the male rats irradiated by 10 and 20 times had no significant effects on early growth, sex ratio and the content of sex hormone in plasma. While the P-LCR of female offspring whose father irradiated by 20 times was significantly reduced by 25.00% compared to the control group, and the PLT, W-LCR of the male offspring had obvious difference compared to the control. Additionally, the learning ability of the male offspring was clearly weakened. However, the offspring when the male rats irradiated by 10 times had no obvious influence on the indexes mentioned above. Therefore, the male rats received 20 times irradiation had more serious effect on their offspring compared to 10 times.Comparing with the male rats received 10 times irradiation, the offspring when pregnant rats irradiated by 10 times grew relatively slowly at the early age, and the MCHC of female offspring increased obviously, the WBC、RBC、HGB of male offspring rose significantly. While the GLU, ALT, CRE, ALB of female offspring were decreased apparently. The CRE of male offspring was significantly decreased by 17.61%, and the male offspring showed a tendency that their learning ability was declining. Therefore, the pregnant rats received 10 times irradiation had more clear influence on their offspring compared to the male rats irradiated by 10 times. It was conclusion that multi-times of irradiation to rats had accumulative effects on their offspring. In addition, the influence on the offspring when pregnant rat receive irradiation was greater than male rats irradiated, while the parental were exposed to the identical external pules microwave irradiation. The research results above provided critical noteworthy experimental evidence for the safety protection of pulse electromagnetic radiation.
