Through 23 lab tests and series of analyses on the water sample gathered from Dafosi, Tingnan, Xiagou and Shuiliandong coal mines in Bingchang mining area, this paper gets the conclusion about the features of the water in the mining area: it is of high chromaticity and turbidity, and has low content of COD, BOD which belongs to high suspended solids mine drainage. According to the features above and the different demands on water quality standard for different water use, under the method of dual water supply, this paper proposes the mine water treatment process in Bingchang mining area.By means of beaker test, use three kinds of coagulants separately to conduct the coagulation experiment on the mine water from Dafosi, Tingnan, Xiagou and Shuiliandong coal mines. The results indicate that the PAC has the best effects in coagulation and is the most economic, the optimum quantity of it is 29.87 mg/L ~ 32.36mg/L, and the optimum PH value is 8. Meanwhile, mix the PAC and PAM to perform the orthogonal coagulation experiment on the mine water from Tingnan coal mine. The results suggest that PAM is the main factor that influences the suspended sediment and then is PAC. The optimum quantity of PAC is 29mg/L and that of PAM is 0.4mg/L, and the optimum PH value is 7.With the test results, carry out experiment at the Tingnan coal mine spot: put the raw water into primary settling tank→coagulate→clarify→filtrate, the results show that the concentration of SS in the effluent quality is 5mg/L and its turbidity is stabilized under 4 NTU which is superior to coal washing water. It meets the water quality standard of underground fire sprinkling (SS≤150mg/L) and water for afforestation (SS≤10mg/L) as well as the domestic miscellaneous water (SS≤5mg/L), such as water for car washing and sweeping. This paper, through analyses, demonstrates that the mine water treatment process is reasonable as well as the optimum coagulant and its quantity which provides references to further research on reclamation of coal mine drainage.
