Seed plant diversity and conservation were studied in two main forest regions of the Taihang Mountain Nature Reserve, including Huanglianshu forest region, Shuangtai forest region. The objective of this paper was to provide scientific methods and theories for plant diversity conservation of the Taihang Mountain Nature Reserve. The results of this research are as follows:(1) The study of plant flora shows:①plant species are rich:There were 1654 seed plant species which belong to 674 genera and 156 families in the Taihang Mountain Nature Reserve.②Tropical genera accounted for 24.10% of total genera, and temperate genera represented 73.02% in genera level, which revealed that the flora was temperate in nature.③The geographical elements of the flora are complexity. The flora communication with other flora is comprehensive.15 kinds of the patterns all appear in this area.④The feature of endemic to this flora is rich:There are 16 Chinese endemic genera. There are 491 Chinese endemic species, making up 32.30% of the total species.⑤The geographical elements of the flora are complexity. The flora communication with other flora is comprehensive.(2) The study of plant community landscapes shows:①Forest vegetation was classified into 3 vegetation type groups,7 vegetation types,49 association.②The main plant community landscapes are as follows:Form.Quercus baronii; Form. Quercus variabilis; Form. Quercus aliena; Form. Carpinus turczaninowii; Form. Euptelea pleisperma f. franctii; Form. Koelreutevia paniculata;Form. Cotinus coggygria var. pubescens; Form. Rosa xanthina; Form. Vitex negundo; Form. Forsythia suspense; Form. Viburnum schensis; Form. Zizyphus jujuba var. spinosus; Form. Spiraea chinensis.③The life forms of forest vegetation according to Raunkiaer classification were:Phanerophyta> Hemicryptophyta> Geophyta> Therophyta>Chamaephyta.The order was microphanerophytes >mesophanerophytes>megaphanerophytes>lianoidphanerophytes>nanophanerop hytes in Phanerophyta, and deciduous species>evergreen species. The leaf characteristics showed that plant with microphyllsand mesophylls, simple, unentire, herbaceous and leathery leaves played an important role. The vegetation stratification were divided into:tree layer, under growth layer, herbaceous layer and lianas, the tree layer could be divided into two sub-layer.④The more complex the plant community structure is, the higher its diversity index is. Every plant community landscape has a high diversity level.⑤The plant community landscape structure is complex. The plant community landscape usually has three lays and a lot of species. There are some special forms in some gully or gloomy slope, such as Form. Quercus baronii.(3)This text has preliminary study the development and utilization of resources of wild ornamental plant in Taihang Mountain Nature Reserve. Has analysed the principles of develops and utilizes, the prospect of development and utilization and the way of development and utilization of the ornamental plant. Text has listed 50 kinds of wild ornamental plant with higher development and utilization potentiality for reference. Among them there are 13 kinds plant of watch flowers,12 kinds plant of watch leaf 10 kinds plant of watch fruit,4 kinds plant of watch shape,6 kinds of liana,2 kinds of bamboo, and 3 kinds of fern.
