Research And Application Of Electronic Map Based On ArcGIS Server

In order to effectively prevent the damage of floods and droughts, it is necessary to build a water information management system. However, most current water information management systems are lack of geographic information support. In order to solve this problem, this paper introduces electronic map into water information management system.The electronic map which is built on traditional WebGIS methods has a lot of disadvantages, such as it is weak in dealing with spatial data, difficult in establishing a distributed system, and poor in data sharing. According to this, this paper researches the architecture and the mode of object management of ArcGIS Server, and improves the performance of GIS Server by using the middleware and pooled management technology, and realizes a better performance of electronic map by using the new technologies such as Web Services.However, due to the large data and complex data processing, the operating efficiency of electronic map system is low. To solve this problem, this paper proposes introducing caching technology into electronic map, for the application of cached pictures can fasten the response speed and promote the performance. Then, under the development framework of.NET, this paper compares three different development models and chooses the best one. Furthermore, according to the characteristics of the system database, SQL Server with ArcSDE is adopted to manage data in order to realize the unity of spatial data and attribute data. This paper uses ArcGIS Server ADF, JavaScript, no-refresh callback and other new technologies to realize the functions of electronic map system, which includes the basic operation of the map, information displaying and querying, markers marking and displaying, eagle eye and magnifying glass, regional measuring, printing and so on. Finally, the electronic map is used in the Flood & Drought Prevention System of Liaoning Province to provide efficient geographic information support.
