With the tide of a new generation of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform,more and more countries take the development of digital economy as an important way to promote economic growth.Among them,actively promoting the deep integration of new generation information technology and manufacturing,and vigorously developing advanced manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing are important measures generally taken by all countries.China’s "14th five year plan" for the development of digital economy pointed out that during the "14th five year plan" period,China’s digital economy turned to a new stage of deepening application,standardized development and inclusive sharing,deeply promoting industrial digital transformation,and accelerating the whole life cycle digital transformation of R & D and design,production and manufacturing,operation and management and market service is the main path for the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industry.As a traditional advantageous industry in China,after more than 40 years of development,furniture manufacturing industry has seized the opportunities brought by the transfer of international furniture industry,the increase of international market openness and the rapid expansion of domestic market,and has become the largest furniture producer and exporter in the world.However,as China’s economic development enters the new normal,the growth rate of furniture manufacturing industry gradually slows down,the industry competition becomes more and more fierce,the enterprise profits continue to decline,and the pressure of industrial transformation and upgrading continues to increase.Facing the irresistible development trend of global digital economy,promoting the furniture manufacturing industry to rely on digital technology to improve product quality and production management efficiency,and realize efficient operation and business growth through digital transformation has become an important guarantee for the furniture manufacturing industry to reshape its industrial competitive advantage.Therefore,how to evaluate the current performance level of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry and explore the driving factors and mechanism of improving the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry is an important problem to be solved in the process of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry.Based on the theories of industrial integration theory,innovation theory,complex adaptive system theory,synergy theory and grounded theory,this paper puts forward the theoretical analysis framework of performance evaluation and driving factors of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry.It explains in detail the development status of China’s furniture manufacturing industry and the importance of digital transformation,on the basis of clearly defining the connotation and extension of the concept of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry and describing the characteristics of digital transformation of Chinese furniture enterprises,the performance evaluation index system of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry is established,the survey data of 327 furniture manufacturing enterprises in the province were obtained,using entropy weight method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,this paper empirically evaluates the comprehensive performance level of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,and compares and analyzes the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry in 11 provinces.On this basis,the grounded theoretical method of qualitative research is used to identify the driving factors to improve the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry,build a theoretical model of digital transformation performance and driving factors of furniture manufacturing industry,explore the operation mechanism of the performance drivers of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry,using analytic hierarchy process and structural equation model,this paper empirically tests the direct and indirect impact of driving factors on the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry,then it puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to speed up the digital transformation performance of China’s furniture manufacturing industry from the enterprise level,industry level and government level.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)According to the analysis of the main economic indicators of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,the economic indicators of large and medium-sized enterprises,regional distribution and export situation,at present,the overall development of China’s furniture manufacturing industry is showing a steady upward trend,but the growth rate is slowing down,the trend of improving quality and efficiency is obvious,the strength of large and medium-sized enterprises is gradually strengthened,the industrial concentration is further improved,the export growth rises in fluctuations,the international market share remains stable,and the pulling effect of domestic demand is gradually enhanced.According to the analysis of indicators such as the total retail sales of Chinese furniture enterprises,the number of loss making enterprises,main business income and profit,Chinese furniture enterprises urgently need to rely on digital technology to improve product quality and production management efficiency,break through development bottlenecks and reshape industrial competitive advantages.From the current situation of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing enterprises,head furniture enterprises have occupied an advantageous position in design digitization,production digitization,marketing digitization,business model digitization and supply chain digitization.(2)Through the empirical analysis of the performance evaluation of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,at present,the comprehensive evaluation value of digital transformation performance of Chinese furniture manufacturing enterprises is 68.558,which is in the "general" level,that is,the lower middle level.There is still some space from the good level of digital transformation performance,and it is still far from the excellent level of digital transformation performance.From the evaluation results of secondary indicators,the economic performance level of digital innovation is the highest,the social performance level of digital innovation is general,and the enabling performance of digital technology is still at a low level.The comprehensive performance value and secondary index evaluation value of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry in 11 provinces are gradually decreasing from south to North and from east to west,indicate that there are great differences in the performance level of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry among regions.The leading advantages of the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta in the digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry are very obvious.The digital transformation momentum of central provinces such as Jiangxi and Hebei is strong,and the digital transformation process of Northeast China is relatively slow.(3)Through the identification of the driving factors of the digital transformation performance of China’s furniture manufacturing industry and the analysis of the operation mechanism,the core category of "driving factors for improving the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry" includes four main categories: Internal driving factors,External environment driving factors,Digital technology diffusion driving factors and System self-organization driving factors.Relying on the behavior of participants,they have a direct or indirect impact on the performance of digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry through information exchange mechanism,resource supply mechanism,cooperation and trust mechanism and incentive and guarantee mechanism.(4)Through the empirical analysis of the performance drivers of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,the four dimensions of Enterprise Internal driving factors,External environment driving factors,Digital technology diffusion driving factors and System self-organization driving factors have a positive impact on the digital transformation performance of furniture manufacturing industry.The path coefficient shows: Enterprise internal driving factors > Digital technology diffusion driving factors > External environment driving factors > System self-organization driving factors.Among them,the incentive mechanism of project digital solutions in the internal driving factors of the enterprise and the environmental constraints and export restrictions in the external environmental driving factors did not pass the significance test.(5)Through the analysis of the countermeasures to improve the performance of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,the realization subject of driving factors can be divided into three levels: enterprise,industry and government.Corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the behavior of different subjects: At the enterprise level,we should give full play to the role of entrepreneurs as the leader of digital transformation,fully tap the value-added of digital transformation in all links of furniture manufacturing enterprises,and take the empowerment of digital technology as the starting point and important starting point of enterprise digital transformation;At the industrial level,we should build a large home digital ecosystem,explore a new mode of digital talent training in furniture manufacturing industry,build a public service platform,and promote cooperation among subjects;At the government level,we should build a policy system for the digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry,promote the construction of new digital infrastructure,strengthen the construction of data standards and security system,and accelerate the digital transformation of enabling small and medium-sized enterprises.This study puts forward the theoretical framework of performance evaluation and driving factors of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,form a beneficial supplement to the theory of manufacturing transformation and upgrading.The research conclusion is helpful to improve the performance level of digital transformation of China’s furniture manufacturing industry,narrowing the gap between regions,promote the all-round and all chain digital transformation of the furniture industry.It will help governments at all levels to accurately formulate supporting policies for the digital transformation of furniture manufacturing industry,establish a new mechanism of cross regional and cross platform collaboration,build a regional digital development ecosystem with innovation coordination,dislocation and complementarity,and supply-demand linkage.
