The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea was added from the Geography of Korea by Lee Seongjong of Joseon. The preface of the New Compilation of the Geography of Korea states that this book was written in accordance with the will of previous kings. The newly compiled Geography of Korea mainly categorizes geographical documents based on 334 buildings and 51 sub disciplines, recording information on the geographical style, cultural customs, poetry and art, architectural construction, official offices in the capital, tombs and palaces of Li’s Korea.Studying the newly compiled Geography of Korea can help us understand the profound influence of Chinese philology on the Korean Peninsula. The writing style of its geographical literature extends to the principles of Central Plains geography,as well as the unique geographical style formed by Li’s Korean geography on the basis of Chinese geography. The format of "New Compilation of Geography of Korea" indicates that the development of geography on the Korean Peninsula has reached a new level, breaking the academic status quo of historical documents attached to geography and transforming it into independent geographical monographs. The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea records the process of the court struggle from the reign of King Yanshan of Joseon to the reign of Emperor Zhongzong through the writing of the tyranny of King Yanshan of Joseon and the expression of language, including political events such as the Jiazi scholar disaster, the Wuwu scholar disaster, the Zhongzong Rebellion, and the Jimao scholar disaster. It reflects the attitude of Emperor Zhongzong and the editors towards court politics and provides detailed historical materials for the Joseon of Joseon. And by doing so,he established the image of a wise and upright ruler of Zhongzong, thereby consolidating the reputation of the court and the public, creating a literary bond connecting the monarch and his subjects, and exerting a long-standing role in consolidating the monarchy. After the disaster of Emperor Yimao,Zhongzong processed the content of the local chronicles in the same way and wrote them in writing. He gave the reputation of the Xunjiu faction and the Jin’anlao faction in the local area,in order to appease the court and the imperial harem, and thus gain a role in gathering the court and preventing the possibility of revolutionary events by the Xunjiu faction. The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea provides detailed records of the customs, local products, inscriptions, bridges, warehouses, customs, architecture, religion, and other aspects of the Eight Paths. It can provide a detailed understanding of the overall changes of the Eight Paths in 49 years,as well as the economic, folk, and military development of the various Paths.Due to its extremely detailed geographical literature,it is an important historical material for understanding the social development of the Yan Shan Jun and Zhongzong periods. The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea records a large number of geographical documents related to the border army, including changes in customs and defense, foreign invasion, and changes in military officials.Through statistical analysis and judgment of literature,it can be found that the Li family of Korea is facing territorial difficulties in the invasion of Jurchen and Japanese pirates.Due to the large amount of Jurchen and Japanese pirate materials recorded in various sub disciplines, especially the Three Pu Japanese Rebellion,it is entirely possible to determine the changes in the military conflict on the border of the Lee family in Korea at this time. The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea reflects the development of Li’s geography literature in Korea.By incorporating a large number of supplementary poems and notes into different disciplines, his works are far more comprehensive than those in the Selected Works of Dongwen and Xudongwen, and can better reflect the true face of Korean geography literature. In the study,it was found that a large number of poems and inscriptions were originated from poets in Gyeonggi Province.Through discrimination,it was found that the authors were mostly prominent officials and celebrities in the capital, indicating that the phenomenon of eight wealthy families exchanging wealth for poetry and literature was evident. It is evident that at this time, the Li family of Korea had a prosperous economic trade in poems and inscriptions. The New Compilation of the Geography of Korea,as a geographical document under the tribute relationship between the Ming Dynasty and Korea, inherits the geographical style of Tang,Song, and Yuan Dynasties. This mixed inheritance method of different dynasties reflects a good level of development in the Li family’s geography of Korea. At the same time, the Li family’s Korean editors also used the method of adding the same type and dividing multiple subjects to write geography, indicating that the Li family’s Korean rulers and subjects deeply studied the theory of Central Plains geography and created their own geographical style,To elevate the East Asian status of Central Plains geography theory and promote the East Asian development of Central Plains geography. Moreover, the New Compilation of the Geography of Korea is written in Chinese characters, and the Da Ming era name is repeatedly used in its Preface and Postscript, fully demonstrating its own Chinese nature. The compilation of the New Compilation of the Geography of Korea has made contributions to the East Asian ization of Central Plains geography.
