| Taking the central issues of professional ethics concerning teacher ethics and the related teaching ethics as well as the identification of the “subject” of teacher ethics into consideration,teacher’s teaching ethics refers to the professional practice of the teacher and it is the presentation of the teacher as the “subject” of teaching ethics.The teacher’s teaching ethics keeps shifting in a dynamic mode attributed to the differential backgrounds along with the introduction of different teaching medias.At the current circumstance,Artificial Intelligence(AI)has increasingly been being employed to education.Meanwhile,it also makes an integrative progress with other innovative cross-medias:the Internet,net of things,holographic technology,virtual reality(VR),augmented reality(AR)/mixed reality(MR)technology,big data and cloud computing.AI not only converges the characteristics of traditional books,electronic media and general information technology,but also integrates itself with education and promotes teaching greatly on the basis of the development of cross-media intelligent technology.Currently,in the field of teaching,there is a combination of several systems: the AI teaching space,teaching system,learning(tutor)system,examination / evaluation system,and management system,forming a network of functioning.At present,AI Teaching-Learning System has covered many traditional tasks of teachers,such as lesson preparation,teaching,assigning homework and giving guidance,and fostering researches related to teaching.AI has indeed replaced part of the traditional teachers’ knowledge teaching roles at some degree.With the robust development of both machine learning and deep learning,knowledge mapping and knowledge engineering,the cognitive ability of AI has outdone ordinary teachers and students in the closed and accurate fields of knowledge.With the common cognitive interactions between AI,teachers,and students,it is believed that AI has already existed as a virtual cognitive“ subject ” in the field of teaching ethics.Nonetheless,with the regard of the development principle of anthropocentrism and the current weak stage of AI development,there are essential barriers between teachers and AI and it is hardly possible for AI to“replace”teachers.Consequently,a tricky issue has gradually caught scholars’ attention,namely,teacher’s teaching ethics.Teacher’s teaching ethics becomes the dispensable presentations of teacher’s Professional Development(PD)in the current AI plus Education context.The teacher’s teaching ethics in the current AI plus Education context mainly refers to the teaching communication practice between teachers and students in the process of conducting teaching,which is manifested by the external ethics codes for AI education and the internal high-level teaching morality.It bears three features of the teacher’s teaching ethics in such context: virtual inter-subjectivity,ubiquity and multiple interactivity.Together with AI as a virtual cognitive subject,the subject of teacher’s teaching ethics expands,since the traditional single subject of teacher has evolved into the virtual inter-subject of the teacher as well AI.Due to the new process of ubiquitous teaching initiated by AI,the space for performing teacher’s teaching ethics extends from the simple traditional in-class teaching to the whole process of ubiquitous teaching,both in and outside class.Due to the virtual cognitive interactions between AI,teachers,and students,the manifestations of teacher’s teaching ethics has being shifted from the traditional dual interactions between teacher and students to the multiple interactions between teacher plus AI and students.The classification of teacher’s teaching ethics falls into three categories: firstly,normative ethics: referring the external teaching ethics of teacher plus AI;secondly,morality ethics: referring the intrinsic high-level teaching morality of teacher plus AI;thirdly,interactive ethics: referring multiple teaching interactions between teacher plus AI and students.Firstly,the normative ethics include the regulations of applying AI to the education,the professional ethics norms of teacher plus AI and the teaching ethics norms of teacher plus AI,which confines teachers’ behaviors from the surface to the inner side.The regulations of applying AI to the education include the regulatory design itself,the potential development,and the conduction.In the light of an overall framework of professional ethics norms of teacher plus AI,it is highly recommenced to attach great importance to the cross-boundary multi-subjects,i.e.the eight dimensions of content and the three-level gradient construction.In the teaching process,the teaching ethics norms of teacher plus AI mainly includes the ethics norms of teaching design,the teaching conducting,and the teaching evaluation.Secondly,the morality ethics include three major manifestations: rational virtues--the teachers’ advanced teaching practice via AI;moral virtues: character infiltration by education;virtue integration: integration of pursuing advanced teaching practice and character education.The advanced teaching practice is mainly embodied in teachers’ integration of atomic knowledge teaching of AI,teachers’ promotion of procedural and meta-cognitive teaching,based on the fact and conceptual knowledge teaching of AI,and teachers’ promotion of creative teaching process throughout the presuppositive teaching process of AI.This three-dimensional education penetration is mainly reflected in the AI education resources links of promoting education with efforts of everyone,collecting educational data via AI to promote education throughout the whole process,and teachers’ ubiquitous AI-assisted knowledge education to promote all-round education.“Teacher plus AI” summarize the mainly embodiment in the teachers’ advanced teaching practice with their unique personality charms,non-stopping pursuit of enhancing teaching practice,ceaseless efforts to devote themselves to the effective teaching practices and put them into effect.Thirdly,the interactive ethics are the multiple teaching interactions between teacher and students via AI.Such interactions between teacher plus AI and students is mainly embodied in the following two aspects: the teaching-learning interactions based on multiple physical presence and the multidimensional teaching-learning interactions.The teaching-learning interactions between teacher plus AI and students changes from physical body presence to social body presence,and then from social body presence to digital body presence.The multidimensional teaching-learning interactions between teacher plus AI and students is mainly embodied in the cognitive interactions,emotional interactions and spiritual interactions.To promote the positive teaching-learning interactions between teacher plus AI and students,both teachers and students should abide by the physical presence of face-to-face instruction and stick to multidimensional interactions from the cognition to the emotion,and to the spirit.Thereby,between teachers and students the authentic teaching interactive ethics come into being based on individual subjectivity.To conclude,given the existence of new subject of teaching ethics,the development of teacher’s teaching ethics demands corresponding peripheral support;the action of teaching on the condition of AI should become a reasonable,legal and normal existence;and the society should make endeavors to systematically construct the external teaching ethics norms when handling AI plus Education;as for the new requirements of teaching competences of teachers,it can be fulfilled by the integration of cultivating and training.From the perspective of internal germinal mechanism of teacher’s teaching ethics,its origin comes from the multiple recognition of the sets of ethics norms and the teachers’ professional virtues and its practice is embodied in the multiple mapping of external ethics norms and internal teaching virtue recognition.Finally,the teacher’s teaching ethics reaches the multidimensional teaching ethical interactions based on multi-body and multidimensional presence between teacher plus AI and students.In the future,when AI is fully embedded in the education field and instruction,it is supposed to run perfectly and silently in the background.Therefore,when having arrived at that stage,the existence of the subject of teacher’s teaching ethics will revert to the existence of single subject of teacher.However,whether the case would be the former or the latter,the two-way development of teacher’s teaching ethics is proceeding: contributing to the progress in all-round development for students on one hand and fostering the realization of teachers’ beautiful professional life on the other. |
