Abstract/Summary:
Rapid urbanization leads to multiple challenges to the urban built environment,such as the decline of ecological environment quality,lack of biodiversity,lack of natural experience and so on.Ground cover plant community is an important part of urban ecosystem structure,and is also an important way to solve the above problems.In view of the fact that the theory of systematic ground cover plant community design and implementation has not yet been formed,A practical problem-oriented experimental method for designing ground cover plant communities has not yet been established,It is impossible to design and construct a stable and anti-invasive self-organizing community with both ecological function and aesthetic characteristics.In order to explore the design mode of urban built environment ground cover plant community,this paper carried out the research from three levels of theory,experiment and design implementation in turn.The theoretical study of ground cover plant community design and implementation takes variable as the link to extract design implementation variables,ecological variables and evaluation variables from the association and integration of community design and community ecology.Finally,the relationship among design variables,ecological variables and evaluation variables constitutes the theoretical framework of plant community design in spatial dimension.In the time dimension,the interaction of implementation variables,ecological variables and evaluation variables constitutes the theoretical framework of plant community implementation.The multi-solution design pattern of ground cover plant community was proposed through the relationship between implementing variables and ecological variables.Based on the design and implementation theory of ground cover plant community,the experimental research method based on observation variables,analysis variables and functional relationship between evaluation variables was established.From the multi-solution design pattern,the representative ground cover community fabric design pattern and the spontaneous ground cover community improvement design pattern were selected to carry out experimental and empirical research on a university campus in the city built environment.The experimental demonstration takes the problem of design pattern inquiry as the guidance,selects the experimental type and transforms the design problem into the variable,analyzes the relationship between the design variable and the evaluation variable in the experiment result,and filters the successful design pattern through the evaluation variable.The model design method and implementation approach of ground cover plant community are the further transformation of experimental results.The qualitative design methods,such as site habitat,plane layout,elevation design,species collocation,ground cover,etc.,are extracted from the correlation between evaluation variables and design variables.The quantitative design parameters are obtained based on the value range of the design variables of the evaluation variables,and the specific and optional design patterns of different habitats are selected by the evaluation variables to extract the species proportion and planting density of the design patterns and prepare them from the experimental site.The experiences and lessons of construction and management maintenance sum up the implementation approaches of the two models.In this study,a systematic theoretical framework and experimental research method for the design and implementation of ground cover plant communities were established based on the integration theory,experiment and practice,and the design and implementation approaches of the two models were obtained from the experimental demonstration,which expanded the ecological theory and research methodology of landscape architecture.To provide theoretical and practical guidance for the design and research of ground cover plant communities.Diversified design pattern of ground cover plant community can make use of urban built environment space and heterogeneity habitat condition effectively,build pattern of urban habitat and biodiversity,shape nature in city,improve environment quality of urban human settlements.
