Study On The Integrated Urban Community Environment Design: Planning, Landscape And Architecture

With the development of the economy and people's living standard in China,, people's living requirement has changed from 'quantity' to 'both quantity and quality', that is from laying stress on housing area to housing type, interior decoration, and finally on outdoor environment. However, the limited knowledge of the current community development in planning, architecture and landscape architecture, the separated design process of the community environment, which follows the rigid order as planning→architecture→landscape architecture, prevents it from satisfying people's whole needs.The returning of modern humanism and the developing of human settlements, bring about great a 'revolutionary change' in design methodology, which is from linear thinking to holistic thinking, from separated design process to integrated planning, architecture and landscape architecture together. It is an inexorable requirement for the "complex and great system" of science of Human Settlements.Beginning with analyzing the inclination of urban community development in planning, architecture and landscape architecture in the new century in China, the thesis summarizes the general characteristic of the urban community environment; then, by taking each design factors of planning, architecture and landscape architecture into account, an integrated design model is formed; finally, the thesis propose the urban design should be adopted as a crucial stage in the integrated design process. As the core part of urban design, the thesis explores the way to build community outdoor space patterns.The aim of the thesis is to study the in strategies of China urban community environment design in the new century; explore how to apply landscape design to the traditional urban environment design process, which used to consist of planning and architecture, and make great contribution to the urban community environment; break through the separated design process and integrate different disciplines together, including landscape architecture and urban design, and form an systematic and effective design process so that satisfy people's whole needs and make their dream of 'poetic habitat' true.The thesis tries to break through the current study, focusing on styles and techniques, and on the basis of epistemology and methodology, explore the urban community design method, making contribution to urban community environment practice and theory study in China. It also lays a foundation to the integrated environment design of other projects, such as campus, science parks etc.
