In recent years,China’s urbanization is advancing rapidly,and the scale of cities is expanding.In 2014,Xixian New Area was officially established as a national-level new district,which is of great significance for innovating the way of urban development and carrying out the strategy of western development in depth.However,rapid urban expansion has also brought a large number of ecological problems such as water shortage,reduced biodiversity,ecological fragmentation,urban flooding and so on.At the same time,with the rapid development of social,urban residents not only have a demand for the beautiful urban ecological environment,but also have strong demand for the aesthetics,regional characteristics and culture of the city’s green space.Therefore,in urban construction,the design of green space landscape is not only the aesthetic requirement of urban characteristics,but also the ecological requirements of the city,functional requirements and cultural demands.Compared with the natural habitat,the city green space is more fragmented,there are a large number of small patch green space,become an important part of the urban habitat network system,is an important space to protect urban biodiversity,and has a richer habitat heterogeneity.How to use these characteristics to meet the ecological function and landscape activity needs of urban green space efficiently and economically is an urgent design research problem to be solved.In view of the above background,this paper makes a comprehensive study on the related theories and methods of habitat-site design and manual intervened groundcover plant community composition,and on the basis of the research results of small-scale green space habitat network construction,investigates and studies on the environmental habitat factors built in the cities of Xixian New Area and the structure of plant communities by plant community,and puts forward the design model of " Artificial Habitat-Island ".It is a landscape design based on habitat creation theory that integrates site habitats with stable high-quality plant communities.In the construction of urban small-scale habitat network,it is a product of small ecological habitat patches based on site design into artificial landscape design.It has clear boundaries,a variety of types of habitat characteristics in combination with different site habitats,which can meet the heterogeneity conditions of habitat patches,and it has a variety of plant communities and indicative species models to increase urban biodiversity and ecological connectivity.At the same time,it combines multi-scale,multi-form artificial structure as the carrier of plant community to build a bridge for the plant community landscape to intervene in the urban public space,effectively improve the ornamental value of the built environment landscape,because it uses stable and high-quality local plant community,not only has good regional landscape characteristics,its management and maintenance cost is also more low.In addition,"Artificial Habitat-Island " provides a new experimental method of both ornamental and experimental value in small-scale urban space,which is more conducive to the study of manual intervened groundcover plant community composition.Based on habitat creation theory,this paper elaborates the relevant principles that affect the urban habitat factor of " Artificial Habitat-Island ",artificial vegetation composition of plant communities and landscape design,and constructs the theoretical framework of " Artificial Habitat-Island " design.The corresponding design methods were refined and summarized in the five aspects of habitat layout,plane shape and size,interface and facade,manual intervened groundcover plant community composition and soil assessment and improvement.Because of the anti-solution and complexity of ecological design practice research,experimental research has become an important means to promote such research.Therefore,this study,taking as an example two circular "Artificial Habitat-Island " experimental bases in Xixian New Area,demonstrates the relevant influence and significance of the above principles and methods on the design of the circular " Artificial Habitat-Island " in the site,and finally attempts to propose five "Artificial Habitat-Island " design models for the urban construction of environmental green space in Xixian New Area,and summarizes the " Artificial Habitat-Island " Designing the basic process of construction and management maintenance,and finally using hierarchical analysis to make a comprehensive assessment of " Artificial HabitatIsland " to verify its application function value.
