| In recent years,due to the exhaustion of resources and the deterioration of the environment,countries begin to advocate the development of circular economy.As an important way to realize the circular economy,remanufacturing has good environmental and economic benefits,and has been strongly supported by governments and firms.However,the development of remanufacturing in reality faces many challenges.On the one hand,remanufacturing takes end-of-use products as raw materials for production,and the insufficient supply of available cores has been an important factor restricting the development of remanufacturing.On the other hand,remanufacturing companies often have private information,such as remanufacturing cost information and demand information(including remanufactured product market information and product market demand information).The asymmetry of information will distort firms’ decisions and affect the development of remanufacturing.Therefore,in the context of remanufacturing,considering that remanufacturing is constrained by the quantity of new product,this paper studies the cost information and demand information sharing of remanufacturing companies.In addition,the impact of information sharing on social welfare and environment is discussed.The main contents of this study include the following four aspects:First,considering one remanufacturer and one manufacturer are engaged in Cournot competition,the remanufacturer has private information about remanufacturing cost and the yield of remanufactured product is constrained by the new product quantity of the manufacturer,this thesis investigates the impact of quantity constraint on the incentives of remanufacturer’s cost information sharing,and analyzes the influence of information sharing on social welfare and environment.Results reveal that cost information sharing will never hurt the manufacturer.When the cost of new product is relatively small,the quantity constraint on remanufacturing is not binding and the remanufacturer will voluntarily share the cost information with the manufacturer.This is because information sharing can coordinate firms’ production quantities.When the cost of new product is moderate,information sharing can allow the manufacturer to adjust the new product quantity to limit remanufacturing more exactly,which hurts the remanufacturer and may make the remanufacturer be reluctant to share cost information with the manufacturer.When the cost of new product is relatively high,remanufacturing is always limited by the quantity of new product.In this case,whether sharing cost information or not has no influence on the remanufacturer’s profit.Under certain conditions,cost information sharing increases social welfare.The environmental impact of cost information sharing depends on the new production cost and the environmental impact coefficient of remanufactured product.When the new production cost is moderate and the environmental impact coefficient of remanufactured product is large,cost information sharing benefits the environment.Second,considering the remanufacturer has private information about remanufactured product market information and competes in quantity with one manufacturer,this thesis explores the impact of quantity constraint on the remanufacturer’s market information sharing decision,and investigates the influence of information sharing on social welfare and environment.Results show that remanufactured product market information sharing hurts the manufacturer if the new production cost is small.Interestingly,while remanufacturing is always constrained by the new product quantity,remanufactured product market information sharing may still increase remanufacturer’s profit.When the cost of new product is medium,both the remanufacturer and the manufacturer benefit from remanufactured product market information sharing and thus voluntary information sharing will be the equilibrium,but this may hurt social welfare.The influence of remanufactured product market information sharing on the environment depends on both the cost of new product and the environmental impact coefficient of remanufactured product.Under certain conditions,the less environment-friendly remanufacturing is(i.e.,the larger environmental impact coefficient of remanufactured product is),the more remanufactured product market information sharing can improve the environment.Third,considering the cost of remanufactured product is the manufacturer’s private information in a closed-loop supply chain consisting of a single manufacturer and a single supplier,the manufacturer produces new products by sourcing key components from the upstream supplier,and remanufactures the collected end-of-use products,the remanufactured product quantity is constrained by the new product quantity,this paper investigates the manufacturer’s vertical cost information sharing incentives and analyzes the impact of information sharing on social welfare and environment.We find that vertical sharing of cost information is always beneficial to the supplier.When the cost of new product is moderate,the manufacturer will voluntarily share the cost information with the supplier.Vertical cost information sharing can benefit social welfare while hurt the manufacturer.The impact of cost information sharing on the environment depends on the cost of new product and the environmental impact coefficient of remanufactured product.Under certain conditions,the less environment-friendly remanufacturing is,the more cost information sharing can improve the environment.Last,considering product market demand information is the manufacturer’s private information,in a closed-loop supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one supplier,the manufacturer produces new products by sourcing key components from the upstream supplier,and remanufactures the collected end-of-use
