Publishing academic journals is an important link in the chain of transforming results of R&D activities to social and economic practice.There are still some problems in the identification,monitoring,evaluation and management of academic periodicals.The typical problems include the following: the idea and method for evaluating academic periodicals can not support the demand posed by the development of academic periodicals;the evaluation ideas and methods of academic periodicals do not reflect the diversified development situation under the concept of publishing integration,the abuse and misuse of academic periodicals evaluation system and results in practice by scientific and technological management units and scientific research performance evaluation units,academic journals have the problem of academic misconduct and publishing integrity derived from the one-sided pursuit of individual and key evaluation index values.In the aspect of information science,it can be summarized as a static and dynamic quantitative measurement problem of academic information collection.Information entropy is a classic theory to resolve the problem of information measurement.This thesis will study the nature and mechanism of academic periodicals in the process of information communication based on the theory of information entropy.The major task of this study is to find the regularity and mechanism in effective information communication through academic periodicals.Based on it,this thesis will study the monitoring and evaluation method of dissemination efficiency of academic periodicals.The basic hypothesis of this thesis is that for a system,the generation of information reduces the uncertainty of the system,which can be understood another way: The reduction of information entropy of the system could be realized by introducing negative entropy into the system.When academic journals are published as a collection of information,academic journals are widely used and disseminated,the knowledge content provided on behalf of academic journals has greater value,which improves the consistency of the cognition of the objective world in the whole academic system more effectively,and reduces the wrong understanding of the unknown knowledge field.The application in the field of periodical evaluation can be regarded as the knowledge set provided by periodicals to the whole knowledge dissemination system,the higher the display level(probability),the greater the value of the content,that is,the greater the contribution of negative entropy to the system.Therefore,information entropy can be used as a quantitative index to measure the value level of information,which could be applied to the evaluation of sci-tech periodicals.The research contents of this thesis include: establishing a citation indicator model to describe the change in information entropy of academic periodicals;and calculating information entropy with new energy research field as sample;Based on the analysis of information entropy,this thesis explores the new method to evaluate the quality and impact of academic periodicals in the new view of information communication efficiency and effectiveness.This thesis will empirically analyze about 5000 S&T periodicals in China.This thesis will also put forward with advice to related department.Providing theoretical foundation and data support for management of academic periodicals is this project's ultimate objective.The methods mainly use citation analysis method,multivariate analysis method and attribution method to study the change of information entropy in the subject knowledge system brought by the publishing behavior of academic periodicals.By using the method of literature investigation and analysis,citation analysis,Information entropy analysis and comparative research,this paper validates the data source based on SCI database,and validates the information entropy change monitoring method with the subject of new energy field as a sample.Analytic hierarchy process,citation analysis method and expert investigation method are used to construct the criterion Layer index of Academic periodical identification,detection and evaluation,and the whole sample empirical analysis is carried out by the periodical Management department published in our country as an academic journal.Finally,through the comprehensive analysis of China's academic journals development reform bottleneck issues put forward targeted policy recommendations.The fresh insight of this thesis is the idea that the contribution of academic journals to the development of relevant disciplines could be estimated by entropy change.On the one hand,based on the theory of information entropy,this paper uses citation analysis method to realize the analysis of the principle and mechanism of the dissemination of academic information in academic journals and the evaluation of the efficiency and effect of communication.The other is to realize the theoretical support and data support of the identification,monitoring,evaluation and management of academic journals scientifically and effectively from the needs of the management of academic periodicals at the practical level.This thesis expounds the concept of information entropy in academic communication,and proposes a mathematical model forits estimation: Because the discipline development and communication system have remarkable system attributes,it is possible to study the knowledge achievement set of a subject field as an isolated system.In this isolated system,the uncertainty of knowledge achievement judgment is measured as a measure of the change of subject entropy state.The empirical work of calculating academic communication information entropy based on 7 research topics in the field of energy science shows that the entropy value of the system decreases as time elapses,implicating that the uncertainty of the knowledge system is decreasing.One of the functions of academic periodicals is to reduce uncertainty in the process of science understanding.It's a reducing process of information entropy.In this thesis,a periodical evaluation index system based on academic communication information entropy calculation index is designed,and the index system and structure are determined by analytic hierarchy process and expert investigation method,including 7 criterion layer indexes(primary index)and 20 second indexes,and the large sample empirical evidence is adopted.Taking the first batch of 5737 academic journals identified by the State Administration of Press,Radio,Film and Television of People's Republic of China(SAPPRFT)as an empirical sample.After the analysis by use ofthe evaluation method based on information entropy,this study puts forward strategies for the frog-leaping development of academic STM periodicals so that the bottlenecks of periodical development in China might be broken.
