Optoelectronic circuit techniques are used to enhance the performance of digital and mixed-signal CMOS circuits. For high-speed digital systems, an optoelectronic clock distribution scheme is proposed. A complete clock recovery circuit is described and measured performances of the embedded amplifier are reported. For microcontroller based, remote powered, data acquisition and control systems, a complete family of optically injected logic circuits and auxiliary optically injected mixed-signal circuits, are for the first time presented. Performance characteristics of these novel circuits are extracted from simulations and measurements. |
