Abstract/Summary:
Silo-based evaluations fail to recognize weaknesses in institutional initiatives and leadership necessary to achieve enrollment management goals. A three-round e-Delphi study involved 36 participants from public 2- and 4-year colleges and universities in Arizona to evaluate 12 indicators of effectiveness and 18 leadership competencies. Using nonparametric statistics, results from each round indicated statistically significant differences (p < .05) in consensus levels when evaluating the impact and importance of indicators of effectiveness and leadership competencies between institution type, institution size, and functional area. Results indicate enrollment management is more a philosophy providing an internal perception of effectiveness than a formal program. The study should be replicated in a different geographic area to compare and contrast these results.
