As with the rise and popularization of social media,the thought of Web2.0,characterized by"participation" and "sharing",has infiltrated into the academic arena,innovated the way for researchers to obtain,transfer and exchange scientific research achievements,and promoted vigorously the openness and sharing of scientific research around the globe.Academic exchange and research collaboration,two key parts of diversified innovation activities in an open research environment,has been flourishing in the cyberspace of research exchange—academic social networks.Academic social networks,with the inherent advantages,have attracted researchers from various backgrounds to present their academic theories and innovative ideas in the same cyberspace.At the same time,enormous problems arise in exchange mechanism and performance of academic social network.The problems of exchange mechanism have been shown in a lack of a systematic structure,diversified motivations,interactive processes of knowledge exchange and the incompatibility of traditional scientific knowledge exchange models with network digital researching.As for exchange performance,measurement of user interaction process and communication efficiency has been taken as the major consideration,without an analysis of global landscape of knowledge exchange and users' mentality.Foreign studies of academic social networks focus on the development of their services,and the models,influencing factors and practice of knowledge exchange,while domestic studies center on a systematic exploration of academic social networks from the perspectives of the development status,service forms and functions,knowledge exchange practices and so on.However,few studies have placed emphasis on knowledge exchange models and performance,and even none has conducted a systematic analysis of their mechanism,models and performance.Thus,all these issues are worth a deep exploration:an in-depth analysis of knowledge exchange mechanism of academic social networks,the establishment of widely-adapted and diversified models,and a multi-dimensional analysis of exchange performance from the perspectives of the input,interaction processes and efficiency of knowledge exchange,and the integration of user interaction perception into the evaluation of knowledge exchange performance,and so on.This study aims at an in-depth discussion of the knowledge exchange performance of academic social networks,presents the concept of system in the element structure model of knowledge exchange,integrates the embeddedness theory,the dissipative structure theory,and the social network theory into the construction of knowledge exchange innovation models,combines the team effectiveness theory into the influencing factors model of knowledge exchange performance,and introduces the knowledge flow theory into the performance evaluation system of knowledge exchange.The study attempts to provide users with quality and suitable exchange models in order to realize efficient knowledge interaction,and to make contribution to promote the appreciation,sharing and innovation of social knowledge.This study has focused on the following work:First,the study has established the mechanism model of knowledge exchange on academic social networks,which,different from traditional knowledge exchange,from the perspective of system theory,explores the elements of knowledge exchange system,the innovative exchange mode of knowledge flow,and the influencing factors of knowledge exchange performance and its evaluation.This study theoretically explains the interrelation and interaction between elements of knowledge exchange system,and practically explores the knowledge interaction mode and exchange performance of academic social networks.Second,the study,from the perspectives of the knowledge convening and fermenting,the embeddness theory,the dissipative structure theory,the social network theory,the team effectiveness theory and the knowledge flow theory,has dealt with the theoretical framework of the configuration principles,innovation models,influencing factors and performance evaluation of knowledge exchange mechanism of academic social networks.Empirically,based on a case study,the author has interpreted three innovation modes of knowledge exchange on the micro level of academic social networks,conducted a questionnaire survey to investigate and analyze the influencing factors of academic social network knowledge exchange performance,assessed the development status of knowledge exchange on academic social networks with intelligent evaluation methods,and made a multi-dimensional quantitative analysis to further explore and examine the promotion strategies for exchange performance.Third,the study has made an in-depth analysis of the models,influencing factors and performance evaluation of academic social networks.Based on the review of the previous knowledge exchange models,this study has established the general models and the innovation models of knowledge exchange on the macro level,presented the case study results and shown the similarities of and differences between various innovation models and their application.Then,taking into consideration the major characteristics and importance of the structure elements of knowledge exchange system in the knowledge exchange process,this study has analyzed the theoretical model,conceptual model and hypothesis model of the influencing factors of knowledge exchange performance,and conducted an empirical research to discuss the specific influencing factors.Moreover,from the three perspectives of interaction process,results and user perception,this study has made an empirical analysis of the knowledge exchange performance of the ten popular academic social networks,and shown the obvious problems of knowledge exchange performance of the academic social networks available,thus providing reference for the establishment of evaluation indicators and methods and the improvement of knowledge interaction quality.This study consists of seven chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the research background and questions,illustrates the research significance,reviews the status of relevant researches at home and abroad,and presents the research focuses,methodology and innovation parts.Chapter 2,a theoretical basis of the study,defines the concepts of academic social networks,analyzes their fundamental characteristics and classification,discusses the connotation,dimensions,configuration and models of knowledge exchange,expounds the connotation of performance evaluation of knowledge exchange on academic social networks,and explores the applicability of the concept of performance evaluation in the research.Chapter 3 analyzes the connotation,characteristics and types of academic social network knowledge,and obtains the concept,forms and context-dependent characteristics of academic social network knowledge exchange,and with the help of the system theory,constructs the structure relationship model of knowledge communication system.Also it explores the knowledge flow theory from the angles of node,value chain and knowledge network structure,and reveals the internal and external motivation of academic social networking knowledge exchange to explore the process and principles of knowledge interaction.Through an analysis of the knowledge exchange model of academic social networks,it focusing on the key factors in the knowledge exchange process,establishes on the macro level a general model,which is driven by collaboration,efficiency and technology,and integrating the new features of the academic social network structure and the interactive function of knowledge,develops on the micro level an innovation model on the basis of research process,value-chain increment and interpersonal networks.Through the enumeration of specific cases,Chapter 3 tests the similarities of and differences among the three innovation models and their application,and constructs the mechanism model of knowledge exchange,which serves as the overall framework for follow-up research.Chapter 4 takes advantage of the "input-process-output" model in the teamwork effectiveness theory,proposes the knowledge exchange performance theory,concepts,and hypothesis model of academic social networks in which subject traits,knowledge characteristics,communication media and environment serve as input element,in which interactive quality and knowledge innovation support serve as intermediaries,and in which knowledge exchange ability and exchange satisfaction serve as results.Also,Chapter 4,through small-scale in-depth interviews and small sample predictions,conducts qualitative and quantitative assessment of the initial questions for measurement of the influencing factors of knowledge exchange performance of academic social networks,and proposes a formal measurement scale.Chapter 4,further conducts a statistical analysis,a reliability and validity test and a confirmatory factor analysis of the 363 valid data samples collected and later processed on the data statistics and structural equation modeling software,in order to test the proposed hypothesis of the influence on knowledge exchange performance.Chapter 5 clarifies the necessity of knowledge exchange performance evaluation,presents the principles and methodology of knowledge exchange performance evaluation,which stresses knowledge exchange objects,the interaction process,user interaction contexts,the extent to absorb new knowledge,and user interaction perception,and establishes a evaluation scale for knowledge exchange performance from the four perspectives of knowledge interaction,knowledge flow and stock,knowledge utilization,user interaction perception.Chapter 5 also reviews the advantages and disadvantages of the existing mainstream knowledge exchange performance evaluation methods,and proposes a weight determination and optimization method on the basis of rough set conditional information entropy in order to develop a hierarchical intelligent evaluation model for academic social network knowledge exchange performahce.Furthermore,it selects ten of the most popular academic social networks,evaluates their knowledge exchange performance,and justifies the evaluation index system,method and model.Chapter 6 discusses the difficulties faced by knowledge exchange of academic social networks,puts forward the strategy which is directed by the multi-level demands of research users,which targets the acceleration of knowledge dissemination facilitating research on academic social networks,and which develops multiple channels of academic exchange and enhances user interaction satisfaction to achieve mutually-beneficial and win-win outcomes.It explores the multiple optimization strategies for improving knowledge exchange performance from the four aspects of knowledge exchange subjects,resources,media and environment.Chapter 7 presents the conclusions and prospects.The main conclusions of this study are summarized,and the shortcomings in the research and the directions of future research are also explained.
