| The present research of press conference is mostly from the perspective of communication.However,from an anthropological perspective,this paper explores the situation and characteristics of the press conference during different historical stages in China since the constitutionalism movement in the late Qing Dynasty by combining qualitative and quantitative research methods.First of all,combing the time and space venation of China’s press conference,It elaborates the evolution and development of the practice,form and structure of the press conference since the late Qing Dynasty,and discusses the evolution and development of the management thoughts and system of the the late Qing dynasty,BeiyangGovernment,KuomingtangGovemment,and Central People’s Government’s press release.It also analyzes the time structure,spatial boundary and pattern,appellation structure and formal structure of press conference as a ritual in different historical periods from 1906 to 2016.The findings of the study break many prejudices and stereotypes of academic community,demonstrate the Continuity of the Press Conference in China since the Late Qing Dynasty and infer the beginning of China’s press conference originated in the late Qing Dynasty instead of the early time of the republic of China.the Qing government took a view to differentiate between inside and outside to government affairs release and made the prudent release as well as keeping in secret as basic thoughts.Besides,it discusses the press release management thoughts as well as implementation and institutional construction of the press conference at the national level of beiyang government.it also determines the press conference should be developed during the period of Beiyang government.The first cabinet of Beiyang government created a precedent for the central government press conference,and the successive cabinet started the promotion of system constructions of the press conference from the central government to local government.Furthermore,it discusses the press release management thoughts and the system design and sustainable construction of the press release of Kuomintang In the context of news control.the findings determine the press conference were popular during the period of the reign of Kuomintang.The Kuomintang Party,military and government system and senior officials held press conference in a large number in general,and specially paid attention to international propaganda.Press conference for foreign journalists would be widely used as a single type.Management ideas of holding press conference for foreign journalists originating in the Qing government were practiced in the Beiyang government,and carried forward by the Kuomintang government.The Executive Yuan,a number of affiliated departments and some provinces and municipalities of the Kuomintang government issued press release system and methods,regulations of the news release.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,press conference ritual persisted,which continued to exsit even during the period of Cultural Revolution.The press conference showed the characteristics of the country’s domination and folk’s withdrawal,and the spatical boundary of the press conference showed the characteristics of internal compression and external expansion from1949 to 1978.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,international communication has been organized quite effectively by the Chinese government and the geographical distribution of press conference overseas has much more greatly expanded than any periods of history.Meanwhile the specifications and level of press conference on behalf of foreign governments significantly has improved in China.The thesis verities and points out the errors of the past study about press conference from 1949 to 1980,which was the period of reform and opening up and were thought as typical cases by academic community,but explained unclearly.it discusses the balanced development of the multiple main body of the press conference after the reform and opening-up,the convergence of the national ceremony and the folk ceremony,the internal and external expansion of the ritual spatical boundary,and the level of the media participation down.On the basis,supported by the development and history of China’s press conference,from cultural anthropological perspective,it analyzes and interprets the ceremony attributes and construction of press conference.The finding redefine the press conference,which is a ritual practice with clear goals and strategies,with power and power control hidden behind ritual behavior.Based on the analysis of anthropology,the ritual of the press conference is executed by people of higher social status,basing on the principles of democratic participation and democratic supervision in modern society,and implementing social control on the democratic ceremony.It demonstrates the factors that improve the effectiveness of the ritual,the ritual form,the ritual specification and the ritual procedure can directly affect the ritual effects of press conference.It also expounds press as rituals,after landing on China,originating in the soil of Chinese traditional culture and filled with Chinese characteristics.It explains the characteristics of the title of China’s press conference ritual from 1906 to 2016.There are three most popular categories of titles,press reception,news conference,as well as press conference.There is no essential difference between the various terms,meaning they are the same ritual activities.At Last,The thesis analyzes the characteristics of the ritual structure and morphology and cultural personality of
