Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and Yi-Principle are two bright pearls in Chinese traditional culture, which are the outstanding civilization achievements created in the same period by our Chinese ancestors with the unique perspective and the whole thinking mode to observe themselves and nature. The author hopes to sort out the inspiration and guidance of TCM given by philosophy and thinking of Yi-Principle and to explore the doctors'explanations and opinions of the relationship between TCM and Yi-Principle in the Ming and Qing dynasties.By doing so,the paper further summarizes the influence of "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM" on the development of TCM in the basic theory and clinical application in order to provide methodological guidance for the inheritance and development of modern Chinese medicine. On the basis of systematically collecting and sorting out the relevant ancient books and documents related to "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM",the paper applied the methods of documentation, historiography, philosophy, sociology, science of thinking, logic, etc.to research. With the TCM literature as the grasp and academic thought analysis as the focus, the research design adopts methods from point to face, from individual to whole to analyze understanding of Yi-Medicine thought, exertion of theory of TCM and its clinical application and outline the basic features of the Yi-Medicine relationship. On the whole, this paper systematically combs the fundamental sequence of "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM",collects and arranges the historical sequence of "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM",and analyzes the clinical achievements of "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM" of the main doctors in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The results show that different doctors apply the theory of Yi to the theory and clinical practice of TCM,such as hexagrams,image-thinking and change-thinking,etc.during the period of the Ming and Qing dynasties when“Applying Yi-Principle to TCM”reached its climax. The above results have had a positive effect on the theories of the human-environmental inter relation,Yin and Yang, gasification, visceral manifestation theory, the gate of vitality,as well as the development of medical school and the innovation of Chinese medicine thinking, which has greatly promoted and enriched the development of TCM.This research also further proves that“Applying Yi-Principle to TCM”is an objective existence in the development of TCM.Yi-Principle has played a great role in promoting the development of TCM in different historical periods, especially in the construction of the theory of TCM.At the same time, there are both essence and dross in the theory of "Applying Yi-Principle to TCM",which needs us to select the essence and discard the gross in the learning and research process. Therefore, the author thinks that nowadays,if we want to inherit and develop TCM,we must base on Chinese traditional culture, trace back to the source, and examine the conceptual elements that play an important role in the formation and development of TCM.All of these can promote the enrichment and development of TCM philosophy and speculative mode in order to find useful enlightenment for the inheritance and development of TCM and to provide important reference for maintaining and developing the characteristics and advantages of TCM.
