Objective: To study the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of insomnia in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the characteristics of the treatment of insomnia,in order to promote the further improvement of the pathogenesis theory of insomnia,and to provide some inspiration and reference for the prevention and treatment of insomnia in the future.Methods: The literature study method was used mainly.On the basis of literature and information related to insomnia in the library paper books and retrieval network database,the medical records of the Ming and Qing Dynasties were collected and collected.Through the form of reading,copying,and taking pictures,the information about insomnia related to the medical records of Ming and Qing Dynasties was screened and excavated,and then the data were classified according to the categories of etiology,pathogenesis,medication and syndrome type.Further research,analysis,induction and statistics of the data are carried out to sort out the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of insomnia in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the tendency to treat insomnia.Results: The theoretical understanding of the pathogenesis of insomnia in the Ming and Qing Dynasties is:(1)yin and Yang maladjustment,including Yin and Yang disjoint,yin and Yang disharmony,yin and Yang disharmony,yin and Yang dissipation,Yang no dependence,Yang Qi deficiency,Yin Sheng Qi Yang,and the dysfunction of the viscera,including heart and blood deficiency,heart and spleen two deficiency,heart deficiency,heart and kidney,heart and kidney disjoint,phlegm and heart Spleen and stomach disharmony,liver yin deficiency,liver depression fire,lung misfire,choly cold,biliary fire and evil heat attack the brain;(3)Qi and blood body fluid disorder,including Qi and blood deficiency,blood heat,blood stasis,deficiency of fluid dry;(4)other points of view,including six prostitution,emotional disorder,sputum drinking,evil in half of the table,after the disease less than 10 times.The frequency of the drug category from high to low were supplementation of deficiency drugs,antiphlegm,expectorant antitussive antiasthmatic drugs,leothing and humidifying drugs,Qi suppressant,liver extinguishing drug,antiphlegm medicine,astringent medicine,blood activating medicine,dispelling wind and dampness medicine,other drugs,diarrhea medicine,warm medicine,digestion medicine,dehumidification medicine,anthelmintic drug,and hemostat.Visible in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the treatment methods of insomnia for doctors were mainly supplementing the deficiency,tranquilizing the mind,eliminating phlegm,relieving cough,relieving asthma,promoting diuresis,clearing away dampness and clearing away heat.Conclusion: 1.In the Ming and Qing Dynasties,on the basis of abandoning the theory of predecessors,the doctors also have new ideas,such as evil heat attack brain,blood stasis and tea can cause insomnia,so that the pathogenesis theory of insomnia is further enriched and developed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.2.The theoretical exposition of the etiology and pathogenesis of insomnia in Ming and Qing Dynasties mainly concentrated in the following five aspects:(1)the imbalance of yin and Yang,(2)the dysfunction of the viscera and the function of Zang Fu organs,(4)Qi and blood body fluid disorder,(5)other points of view(including the six prostitution of the external sensation,the disorder of emotion,the stop in the phlegm drink,the evil in half the half of the table and so on).3.The medical treatment of insomnia in Ming and Qing Dynasties,whether it is category or specific drug are concentrated,to nourishing heart,Anshen,supplement virtual drugs as commonly used drugs,Zao Zao,pinellia,Poria,Poria,Poria,Glycyrrhiza as the specific commonly used drugs,but still a dialectical application.4.The insomnia syndromes recorded in Ming and Qing medical records are mostly deficiency syndromes,so doctors always take the method of nourishing deficiency and tranquilizing the mind as the main treatment.5.Through the theoretical exposition of the etiology and pathogenesis of insomnia in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the analysis of the medicine used in the medical cases of insomnia in Ming and Qing Dynasties,it can be seen that doctors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties think that the pathogenic factors of insomnia are varied and the pathogenesis is complex,which are related to the heart,liver,spleen,lung,kidney,stomach and gallbladder,and the most closely related to the heart.The treatment of insomnia is based on syndrome differentiation,and medication is regular.
