The Research On User Acceptance Of Mobile Library

Mobile Library, an indispensible part of digital libraries, has become the promoter of online information services and has become the tendency in development of online reading. Similar with many other information systems, the developing process of mobile library will depend on not only implementing technologies but also depend on the cognitions, acceptances, and behaviors of systems users. In order to gear up the utility and efficiency of a library, the first thing to do is to make the mobile library be accepted by the users and develop the services based on their subjective perceptions. Nowadays, during developing mobile information services, some mobile libraries are facing problems such as low efficiency, users complaining even refusing to use them. Also the libraries have no idea how to engage potential users, change users'cognitive concepts of mobile library, exert influence on leading factors that impress users'acceptance to meet the need of college teachers and students, take measures to popularize mobile library services. All of these are related to user research. Only by user researches and finding factors that influence users' acceptance in mobile environment, can we solve the above-mentioned problems effectively, find and improve the shortages, and lay a foundation of providing superior information services for mobile library.Up to now, overseas and domestic research status related to mobile library mostly concentrated on research actuality, service model, mobile technology applied in library, mobile library application cases, system implementations and so on. These researches basically stay in theory and system implementations while lake users researches. In the relevant studies, there are fewer empirical studies about mobile library and affecting users accepting mobile library, and less useful theory and valuable experimental data to complement user behaviors.Based on technology acceptance model, this thesis summarize existing user acceptance studies about mobile service and digital library by the methods of literature analysis, questionnaire surveys, interview, mathematical statistics and ca analysis. We establish the technology acceptance model oriented toward mobile library users, verify and revise it by getting effective questionnaires from college teachers and students. Finally we find key factors which influence college teachers and students to accept and use mobile library, and propose several countermeasures to improve mobile information service level of mobile library which have practical significance and reference value to determine the influence factors of user acceptance and using mobile library.The main work of the thesis is blow:The first chapter is about the theoretical basis and the overview of the mobile library user acceptance. Respectively the chapter analyzes the theory of the mobile library user acceptance from the theory of reasoned action, the theory of planned behavior, technology acceptance model theory and the extended evolution of the model, and summarizes the application research and the variables research of the technology acceptance model in mobile services, digital library and mobile library, these three field by researching the documents both in domestic and international.The second chapter builds the user acceptance model of the mobile library and related hypotheses. Based on the domestic and international researches, and the investigation of open-ended questionnaire, the thesis firstly builds mobile library oriented user acceptance model, confirms seventeen variables as the theory variables such as technology acceptance, systematic characters, user interface characters, individual difference, perceived enjoyment, perceived risk, perceptive trust, perceived cost, social influence and so on, and chooses gender, age, education background as adjusting variables. Then according to domestic and international technology acceptance model, the thesis assumes the related variables and the mutual relations. At last the thesis analyses and assumes the adjusting effect to theory variables by adjusting variables.The third chapter is empirical design research about questionnaire design and data analyzes. Based on the theory model and research assumption, by introducing the Likert five maturity scales method, the thesis analyzes and designs measurement indexes that used in the questionnaire by referring to the domestic and international maturity scale tables. According to the request of empirical research, it confirms the scope of investigation, the process of the questionnaire design, sample size and sample screening methods, and confirms the four data analyzing methods of descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis.The fourth chapter is the empirical analysis of mobile library oriented user acceptance model. First, by using the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, exploratory factor analysis, the thesis analyzes the reliability and the validity of the data sample, forming the final sample and researching and verifying the sample in a large scale. Then, according to the data from the508valid sample, by using SPSS software and PLS software, the thesis analyzes the reliability, validity and structural equation modeling. By confirmatory factor analysis, the thesis verifies the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. By structural equation modeling analysis, the thesis analyzes the path relation of the potential variables and verifies the assumptions and variables in the model systematically. Afterwards, the thesis analyzes and explains the result of the model verification in detail, confirming leading factors that influence user acceptance of mobile library and summary the relations of the different variables at last.The fifth chapter introduces the improving strategy for mobile library user acceptance. According to the result of adjusting the variable effect test and structural equation model fitting analysis, the thesis ensure the key factors that are affecting the staff and students in the colleges accepting the mobile library. Combining with the relevant practical experience at home and abroad, and open questionnaire survey, the thesis put forward improving strategies as follows:improve mobile library service quality to satisfy users'demand for information; expand the compatibility of library system, increase the convenience of system operation and optimize the design of the system interface to popularize mobile library service; strengthen publicity and popularize information education to extend marketing channels of mobile library; heighten system development, create a favorable mobile information service environment; establish relative service institution and regulations, reduce customer perceived risk, improve customer trust and the mobile library development cooperation mechanism to promote acceptance and use of mobile library further. The sixth chapter is the study conclusions and outlook.
