Red Song has been spread widely since2006, which proclaims the effort for constructing Red Memory as to reinforce the Mainstream Ideology after the events of Red Classic; meanwhile its popularity has become the focus of the social attention. In this paper, on the basis of dating back all previous Red Song events since China’s Reform and Open-up, the presented texts, mainly focusing on "China Red Song Show" on the Jiangxi Satellite TV in the past six years, are studied and interpreted from the perspective of social remembrance and ritual level. With the theories of social remembrance and construction, the thesis tries to trace some trails on the transmutation of the singing for Red Song intending to convey and how the main ideology has been negotiated and used by various forces in this process under the great changing social realities.Societies’remembering is based on the construction of the current need for passing things, and it is the fighting field on the various social powers as well, which means each group making the efforts to inscribe some social memory in their favor. However, the eventual negotiation of the social memory is the result by negotiating and conspiracy by all power and It just shows there are some changes about the past in this process.The emergence of China Red Song demonstrates that different social forces try to construct Social Memories good for their own and eventually come to an agreement, which exploit the meaning of ideological symbols of Red Song serving for their purposes respectively. This phenomenon not only reflects the current Chinese society but also testifies the theory of Michael Schudson (1992,1995,1997)"Mass Memory is the consequence of compromising". Nevertheless, the cost for constructing Social Memory is the exploitation to the sources of Red Song and make it tense originated in the Red Remembrances and then the mood in commemorates cause tension. Henceforth, Red Memories are transformed into carnival’s Red Memories. In a word, Red Memories is constructed under the different social forces while the new compromise is constantly emerging.The production of "China Red Song Show" itself is a kind of behavior with great purpose in the mainstream ideology in order to inspire social spirit, to enhance social morality and to strengthen the identity,and cohesion. It is not only a subjective "reenchantment" process but also the red memory process on structure. However, the subjective "reenchantment" efforts have obtained objectively "disenchantment" ending; subjectivity tries to construct the red remembering, objectivity is to deconstruct the actual effect of the red memory. Therefore, it is necessary to transform the ideology in modern times only to find a new way in transformation, because since China’s reform and opening up, the rising of China Red Song Movement is as the same style as all pervious campaigns like Red Song and "Red Classics", which are deconstructi ng from the subjective "reenchantment" efforts have been objectively "disenchantment" ending.Besides, this thesis also provides an open case study for generating social memory, which can be served as the supplement to the Michael Schudson’s view in a closed connotation of social memory.
