"China Youth" in 1923-1927("China Youth" for short below), a weekly publication, is one of the eight publications required by the CPC Central Committee during the Great Revolution. As the central organ of the Communist Youth League led by the CPC, from its first publication to its first ceased publication it published a total of 168 issues, which published more than 1,000 articles of various types of nearly 400 domestic and foreign authors,leaving more than 240 million words of precious wealth of ideas and fully reflecting the promotion of the general direction and guidance of young people by the CPC Central Committee and the Communist Youth League of China in complex situations. But for a long time, our scholars research into it is very weak Up till now, the monographic study on "Chinese Youth" in our country is still blank.This article, putting "China Youth" on the historical process of China’s modernization and using it as the main line, tries to give macroscopic analysis of its status, role and influence in the Great Revolution and even the modern history of China, describe its ideological and cultural revolution propaganda to the various youth groups, give microscopic analysis of its authors, readers, and other information itself, and launch a panoramic research into it.This article consists of three parts:introduction, six chapters and conclusion.The introduction part mainly introduces the purpose and significance、the current situation of the domestic and international study、research methods、the paper structure and innovations of the topic of this article.The first chapter:"Chinese Youth" Weekly Review. "China Youth" is a mature journal, representing the then ideological and cultural levels of achievement led by the CPC. Edited by Yun Daiying、Xiao Chunv、Lin Yunan、Li Qiushi, this journal launched publicity, discussion and reports covering the political, economic, cultural and social fields, consisting of various columns and contents, full of unique insights and active forms,and famous for its wide distribution (Peaked at more than 30,000 copies).The second chapter:"China Youth" and the early youth movement. As the organ of the general youth movement, "China Youth" plays a brief but commanding role in promoting, organizing and guiding the movement of young Chinese workers, peasants, students, women, soldiers. It is also a flag of the early youth movement. Under the publicity and guidance of the journal, the movements of young people of all walks of life all over the country developed quickly, the most prominent of which was the movements of Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei and Shanghai during the Northern Expedition. The majority of young people became the vanguard of the revolution.The third chapter:"China Youth" and the early revolutionary propagandist groups. Many writers and editors of "China Youth" are the early revolutionary theory propagandist of the CPC. In the 168 issues of "China Youth", Yun Daiying published 185 articles, Xiao Chunv 80, Deng Zhongxia 20, Lin Yunan 18, Li Qiushi 18, and Ren Bishi 15. Besides, Zhang Qiuren, Liu Changqun, Lu Dingyi and so on also published many articles. Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Chen Duxiu and representatives of the first National Congress of the CPC Mao Zhedong, Liu Renjing, Chen Tanqiu also issued articles in the journal. They used the journal as the advance position, widely publicized the doctrine and policy of the party’s program to young people, criticized all kinds of erroneous ideas, eliminated young people’s confusion, and deeply inspired many young people. Represented by Yun Daiying, Xiao Chunv and four other people, the early revolutionary propagandists not only revealed the common requirements of the revolutionary propaganda under certain circumstances, but also revealed their personality charm.The fourth chapter:"China Youth" and the early ideological and political work of the party.Undertaking the ideological and political work of young people well is the main task of "China Youth". In the dissemination of Marxism-Leninism, it extensively introduced Marxist bibliographies, published special issues such as "Lenin’s Special" and "October Revolution", and the translations of Marxism-Leninism. In publicizing the party’s programs and policies of democratic revolution, and the resolutions of the Communist Youth League, it revolved around all kinds of resolutions and activities of the CPC and the Communist Youth League, widely published politics articles issued by the CPC and the Communist Youth League, and introduced in depth the analytical papers on the Chinese revolution of Mao Zedong and other people. In helping young people to eliminate their confusion about the family, marriage and society, it published articles through the creation of "Communication"、’"Questions"、"Voice of the reader" and other columns to guide them to establish the correct values of life. "China Youth" became good teachers and helpful friends of many young people, and their beacons guiding the growth of their revolution.The fifth chapter:"China Youth" and the early culture of the CPC and the Communist Youth League.The early culture of the CPC and the Communist Youth League was the mental preparation and important fronts of the early revolution. The culture of the CPC and the Communist Youth League was epitomized by the communist world outlook and the theory of social revolution, expressed as the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal culture of the masses led by the proletariat. In "China Youth", the nature and contents of the early culture of the CPC and the Communist Youth League was mainly shown by the way of revolutionary Literature. Anti-imperialist mainly refers to the opposition to the culture of the imperialism and the maintenance of national culture and it was spearheaded at Christian propaganda. Anti-feudal mainly lashed the feudal ethical code, warmly welcome the emergence of new ideas and new ethics. The poetry, novels, fairy tales, fables, plays, songs, essays, etc. published in the Journal clearly reflected the nature of the nation, science, and public of the early culture of the CPC and the Communist Youth League.The sixth chapter:the historical experience of "China Youth". The foundation, release and propaganda of "China Youth" had many remarkable achievements. The basic experience of it are as follows; First, insisting on the party’s leadership of ideological and cultural work. Second, playing great emphasis on the construction of the ideological and cultural force, and training a team of reasonable profession, gender, age, ladder-layer structure. Third, the ideological and cultural promotion should not only be aimed at the masses but also improve them. Last but not least, insisting on critically absorbing traditional culture and foreign ideology and culture.The conclusion part mainly talks about the achievements and shortcomings of "China Youth" and its inspiration for today’s ideological and cultural promotion.
