Research On Households' Economic Behavior And Rural Anti-poverty In China's Central And Western Regions

At present, China's regional disparate development aggravating and resident income gap widening obstacle seriously the pace of building the well-off society in an all-round way. Whether we could reach the goal of building the well-off society in an all-round way in the first 20 years of 21st century, rural areas are the key points and China's central and western poor regions are the difficult points. The study on regional economic development previously pays more attention to the exploration of whole area. The research on individual economy concerns enterprise only. As an indispensable composition unit of individual economy, existing documents about the influence of family economy on regional development are very rare. What's more, the previous study is difficult to become the system. Especially the study on undeveloped regional economy, domestic and international countermeasures are all to promote poor area alleviation and elimination by regional economic growth. It is less rare to explore the influence of family economic behavior on regional anti-poverty from the angle of households.Just because of above-mentioned understanding, considering the course and current situation of China's anti-poverty strategy, regarding households' economic behavior as the research object, this thesis tries to analyze and explain the difficult problem of family's poverty elimination altogether with regional development and realize the "two-win" goal of family's poverty elimination altogether with regional development. This thesis follows the normal form of the modern economics research strictly, unifies history and logic, combines norm and real example as well as qualitative and quantitative research, uses new classical economics, regional economics, development economics, agricultural economics, households' economics and econometrics, etc., on the basis of documentary study, analyses the relationship between households' economic behavior and regional anti-poverty and sustainable development systematically.The thesis is composed of 4 parts and 9 chapters. As the quotation, the first part is made up of chapter 1 and 2. Chapter 1 introduces the research background, domestic and international research dynamic status, research thoughts and methodology as well as research hypothesis. And also this thesis explains the data source used in this paper, points out some innovations and weaks. Chapter 2 scans China's anti-poverty strategy since reform and finds that domestic and international countermeasures are all to promote poor area alleviation and elimination by regional economic growth. But under new situations, China's anti-poverty needs a new thought to break through the difficulty. Therefore, this thesis tries to analyze and explain the difficult problem of family's poverty elimination altogether with regional development and realize the "two-win" goal.The second part includes chapter 3 which is the theoretical frame of analyzing households' economic behavior. Chapter 3 defines some important concepts which is relevant to households' economy, verifies China's Households' economic ration by experience, probes into the general characteristic, influence factor and operating mechanism of China's transiting households' economic behavior by theory. At the same time, this thesis analyzes the behavior difference between poor households and others as well as the relationship among household, poor county and its supervisor government by game theory.As the major body of the thesis, the third part in made up of chapter 4, 5, 6 and 7. This part analyzes the households' investment behavior, consumption behavior, savings and credit behavior and technological application of China's central and western regions by real example. And also explores the influence of above-mentioned behavior on regional economic development. Chapter 4 analyzes the characteristics and regulations of households' investment from investment level, investment structure, investment trend and investment direction and purchase channel as well as households' amount of worker thrown. Then this thesis analyzes the influence factors as the case study of western households' investment behavior by real example. In the end, this thesis points out that strengthening human capital investment is more important for household's family economic development. Chapter 5 analyzes the characteristics and regulations of households' consumption behavior from consumption level, consumption structure, consumption trend and consumption character. Chapter 6 analyzes the characteristics and regulations of households' savings and credit level and structure in China's central and western regions. At the same time, this thesis analyzes the influence factors of households' credit by Tobit method and reaches some important conclusions. Chapter 7 mainly explores the risk and uncertainty in the course of agricultural new technological application. Considering the fact that well-bred technology is the first technology poor households want to get, this thesis analyzes especially households' rice seeds adoption and cognition behavior and reaches some important conclusions.The fourth part is the conclusion part which is made up of chapter 8 and 9. Combining the analysis conclusion of above-mentioned contents, chapter 8 points out that agriculture is the prior field of poor areas' sustainable development and explores the factors that households' concrete behavior obstacles agricultural sustainable development in China's central and western regions. In the end, through commenting households' behavior from the angle of households' accumulation and consumption proportion, this thesis reaches the conclusion that households' behavior in China' central and western regions has a bad influence on regional sustainable development. To realize the "two-win" goal, we must optimize and converge households' behavior. Chapter 9 puts forward some suggestion from macro angle and micro angle.The main innovations of this thesis are as follows:The research thread and angle is particular. The poor people and poor areas have changed greatly, therefore, the thesis thinks that regional anti-poverty strategy should get an evolution from the family level which is the micro unit. Through studying households' economic behavior, this thesis tries to smooth away the difficulty of family escaping from poverty altogether with regional development, and realize the "two-win" goal in the end.This thesis puts forward the theoretical frame of analyzing households' economic behavior systematically. Firstly this thesis defines three nuclear conceptions relating to households' economy and thinks that China's households belong to transitionary households as far as the character is concerned. Then this thesis verifies China's households' economic ration experientially and explores the function mechanism, characteristics and influence factors of China's transitionary households. Finally this thesis analyzes the behavior difference between poor households and others as well as the relationship among household, poor county and its supervisor government by game theory.Combining norm and real example, this thesis expounds households' economic behavior by applying relevant economic model and econometric methods. This thesis analyzes the households' investment behavior, consumption behavior, savings and credit behavior and technological application of China's central and western regions by real example. And also explores the influence of above-mentioned behavior on regional economic development. The result of consumption function model indicates households' consumption behavior accords with relevant income hypothesis, and households' consumption has "ratchet effects" and "conscious effects". The credit model explains correctly the influence factors of households' credit behavior in China's central and western regions.This thesis puts forward the principles and countermeasures of optimizing and converging households' behavior systematically. This thesis defines the meaning, goal and base of poor area's sustainable development, explores the factors that households' concrete behavior obstacles agricultural sustainable development in China's central and western regions and comments households' behavior from the angle of households' accumulation and consumption proportion.
