The status quo of journalistic history study in China is featured in the"inwards probing style"which calls for a renovation in methodology, and for an exploration and establishment of a renewed research paradigm based on an overview of the system– media operation paradigm and the function paradigm of previous research, so as to entitle Chinese journalistic history research with a sense of being occasion-oriented and, a sense of being professional.Media ecology is an edge discipline derived from ecology that learns from the basic concepts of the latter. The so-called media ecosystems, refers to a dynamical equilibrium combination with a media group consists of competing media exist in different ages and geographic areas, which locate in different ecological level, and a structure with its own characteristics, which is consist of the communicating information, energy, as well as substance. The renewed paradigm of Chinese journalistic research, which regards ecology as its theoretic origin and resource, takes the growth of media as its research target and, takes the relations between media and their existing environment as its focus. The history of journalism, is the same history of the growth of the media. The growing media need resources, which is available only from the environment. The assumptions of treating media as a living organism is based on several grounds: on one hand, the media stick to its independence to be an object in the history, on the other, it stresses and values the complex conjunction with the outside environment which means it can never be isolated from the environment. In a specific place and in a certain time, the existing environment for the media can provide a certain limited resources to them. Competition is the basic existing style of media. The ecological level of media was decided by the results of competition. And the ecological level of the media determines the news production process, the media organization as well as news concept. The media group is formed with a competition among the media on the different ecological levels. Therefore, the ecological system of media is built by the media groups and their existing environment..To interpret journalistic history with a focus of the change of media ecology, requires a stick to systematic dynamic conception, and a research principle of systematic analysis, horizontal thoughts, being regional, as well as inner-probing value; and takes it an aim to study the harmony balance between medium and medium, media and the environment, which includes both a longitudinal development and a crosswise launches, both a self development and evolution of media and the relation between those and the development of the country and the society. By so doing, a systematic, overall and organizational overview is form towards Chinese journalistic history --- on one hand, we consider the self development of media, on the other, in the process of the interaction between media and its existing environment, we pay attention to its function to the society, and the impact it undergone by politics, economy, technology and culture. To analyze the history of journalism, it is necessary to put it in the whole social system, taking the unique structure, which is built with the relations between the media and the diverse social elements in a specific age and in a certain place, as its research target, so as to reveal the social elements that closely related to media, and those exert an direct influence over the self decision and self operation of media. Based on an analysis over these elements'restrictive impact to the media and a reach of balance by the two, we can reveal the unique developing process of the media in China, and, to explore a road for its sustainable development.Appling the renewed research paradigm based on media ecology to have an overall or case probe into Chinese journalistic history, it is found that there exists a possibility of rewriting it, especially with regard to the period from 1949 to 1952; and with regard to the Chinese journalistic history as an whole, the historic stages to be divided and the wholly historic appearance, will be a renewed one.
