With the development of computer technology and the digital process of forestry,the GIS of forestry has been established rapidly in many areas.We could use GIS to design the task of forestry, administer the resource of forestry,supervise the silvan resource and plant diseases and insect pests, watch the fire of forestry.The GIS of forestry is very useful for the production of forestry and scientific research because it is visual,intuitionistic,straightaway and efficient.But there are also many problems which exist in the GIS application system development of forestry currently.For example,engineering (hardware and software) is constructed repeatedly,do not follow the unified standards,norms and requirements,it is hard to realize the connect for each other and the share of information.If the information system development is not formed as a whole,the share of information will not be achieved and it may bring many losses of manpower,finance and time.This research introduced the thought of software reuse in software engineering to the development and establishment of Forestry GIS.Using domain engineering analysis method,it mades a detailed analysis and design to the GIS of forestry.According to requirements of forestry GIS function,made the domain modeling.And using component technology,realized the system on application layer which is based on the forestry GIS system of field engineering.Through constructing domain model of forestry GIS,develops forestry GIS general component and realizes the reuse of main function of forestry GIS. The forestry GIS application system which is based on component and domain engineering methods brings many advantages to the software development,liking high efficiency,stable performance, reliable quality,consistent style and grand scale.It provides a powerful guarantee to the standardization of the forestry GIS application system,and reflects the development trend of development mode of forestry GIS application system which uses system as center and combines the existing advanced technology.This article studied mainly in the following aspects:(1) This article made a deep study to the thought and method of current domain engineering,and studies the concept,basic assumptions,the main stage,the participants,typical domain engineering method,the relationship between domain engineering and application engineering,and domain engineering modeling tools,etc.(2) Through the domain analysis of forestry GIS,including established domain dictionary, contextual models,use case model,characteristic model,we could establish a system structure of forestry GIS in design phase and show it practically in development phase.(3) Through the domain engineering to get the system structure of forestry GIS,we could design and develop SF_Star forestry GIS in the application engineering phase,based on GIS components of component technology.The major innovations of this research are listed as follows:(1) It introduced the thought of software reuse in software engineering to the establishment of forestry GIS,and realizes incremental development mode of forestry GIS.(2) Use the ideas,theories and methods of domain engineering firstly to make a complete domain analysis,design and realization of forestry GIS.Establish a comparative perfect solution plan of domain engineering of forestry GIS.Design a feasible domain reuse model of forestry GIS.(3) It realized SF_Star forestry GIS in the application engineering phase,based on domain structure of forestry GIS and GIS components of component technology.This study showed that it is feasible to introduce the idea of domain engineering in software engineering to the establishment of forestry GIS.And it could promote the establishment of forestry GIS much more standardization,identity and scientific.It could effectively reduce the waste of human, material and financial resources arise from developing system repeatedly,and improve the efficiency of forestry management greatly."Digital forestry" will provide a much wider and more visual information processing environment and support platform for the development and establishment of forestry GIS.It promotes the information process of forestry production and provides the information service for the forestry and the whole society.
