Cluster server system is the mainstream one in the current high-end server system and it has been widely used in science computing, business transaction, network information service and so on. To improve the performance of Dawning Cluster Server System and pursue the latest technologies of cluster system, the author researches the relative technologies on cluster system, including cluster switch, InfiniBand Architecture and network storage system and does some designs as well as implementation.The switch of cluster server system is the key point to ensure the communication among nodes in cluster system in that it directly influences the speed of communication thus influences the performance of the whole cluster system. According to Myrinet switch, a new kind of switch used in the new generation of Dawning Cluster System is designed. The content includes system scheme design and FPGA realization, which is the first step for Dawning Cluster System to produce switches with its own knowledge property.InfiniBand Architecture is the combination of 'next I/O' and 'Future I/O', which is a cluster architecture centralizing the switch. It can realize communication from point to point, and the speed of single link is 2.5Gb/s, the maximum speed can obtain 30Gb/s. AH those mentioned above resolve the problems of inadequate bandwidth and bad scalability in existent system. In the paper, the InfiniBand Architecture is first analyzed concerning HCA, TCA, switch, subnet management, packet format, communication means, then a design of the simulator of IBA network architecture over Myrinet switch is given.Network storage system is a high performance and high scalability server system based onnetwork storage devices. With the rapid development of disk access and interconnection technology, network storage system has become the most important part of storage market. On basis of analysis on the shortcomings in the current system, a new network storage system with high performance, well scalability, high availability and well management is proposed. It includes whole project design, module design and the smallest prototype system realization. Furthermore the performance test, analysis and optimization of the smallest system are taken. For the application of I/O density, high performance network storage system can necessarily improve the speed of access to storage devices, thus can improve the performance of whole cluster system..
