Research On Underlying Management Software For InfiniBand

InfiniBand networks are widely used in data-intensive and computationally intensive scenarios with the advantages of high bandwidth,low latency,and expansibility,accelerating the development of data centers and high-performance computing.The centralized management architecture of Infini Band network requires highlevel management software entities to convey management instructions to network nodes through specific management messages.The network node responds to the management behavior through the management agent to achieve controllable and stable data transmission.Therefore,based on the heterogeneous multi-processor system-on-chip composed of CPU+FPGA,this paper proposes a kernel-mode subnet management agent and communication management agent implementation scheme for embedded host channel adapters,and designs the communication architecture between local management agents and remote management entities,as well as the receiving and transmitting control logic of management messages,the analysis of directed routing subnet management packages and configuration logic of management attributes.In addition,this article also proposes a switch subnet management agent implementation scheme,designing configuration logic of switch management attributes and forwarding logic of directed routing subnet management packets.Experimental results show that based on the management agent design proposed in this article,the embedded host channel adapter can complete the device initialization and management attributes configuration process,and has the function of using the local client communication manager to establish or release reliable connection services with remote nodes.The switch is able to complete the management attribute configuration process,and correctly forward the directed routing subnet management packages to simulated nodes.
