With the widely use of high performance computing in various fields of economy and society,the resulting high performance interconnection technology gains increasing popularity.Besides building high-performance parallel computer systems, InfiniBand (IB) network and lOGigabit Ethernet (10GE) network are also used in applications requiring high bandwidth, low-latency network service system,for example,the IB network is used in cloud-based storage service system. Meanwhile, with its high speed, low cost advantage,10GE becomes a core component of backbone and carrying networks in electric and telecommunications system.Thus,service subnet based on IB and 10GE are both exist in high-speed network service system. The IB subnet and 10GE subnet interoperability will help to improve information sharing between the high-speed network and improve the bandwidth of the information services of the whole society.In order to complete the interconnection of these two heterogeneous network,design a protocol conversion gateway is the key problem.This thesis first analyze protocols of InfiniBand and lOGigabit Ethernet, explore the way of data exchange between the two networks, research the design and implementing techniques of the heterogeneous systems and Complet initially the design of the protocol conversion equipment(10GE-InfiniBand Gateway) based on lOGigabit Ethernet.The major work of this thesis is as follows:(1)This thesis studies the theoretical knowledge of InfiniBand and 10GE technology,what's more,this thesis analyzes the feasibility and their advantages and disadvantages of interconnection using FPGA,and put forward a viable 10GE-InfiniBand protocol conversion gateway solution.(2)Based on the hardware platform provided by FPGA, design the network protocol conversion modules.(3)Set up a test environment,make functional test for 10GE-InfiniBand Gateway on IB subnet and 10GE subnet based on IB and 10GE NIC card provided by Mellanox Company.Test results show that:10GE-InfiniBand gateway passes the functional tests, accomplishs the transform between InfiniBand packets and lOGigabit Ethernet packets and achieves an integration of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand network.
