One of the important causes of literature evolution lies in the changes of communication media .The 90' s mass media have formed a new climate and provided a new space for Literature,Which set off a chain transformation in writers, works, readers and editors.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first studies the mass media as communicators. Many new phenomena emerge in the course of the industrialization of literature,but we can't simply attribute the success to or put the blame on the market The mass media set agenda for literature by news discourse, control and guide the communication of literature by naming, awarding and media critique.As personal commnnicators,The writers become divided in the value tendency, the editors' function is stressed and the cultural intermediaries appear.Although not create implication,the latter will play more and more important part in the production and commutation of literature by bringing about value.The second chapter analyses the literature discourse as communication content of the mass media.The literature discourse is inferior to the news discourse in the struggle for the symbolic power, therefore it is polarized or imitate every move of the news discourse.The thesis holds that Literature should reflect the society By its own way.The context of the mass communication gives rise to division and variation in the literature discourse. One is the relation Between serious literature and popular Literature is harmonized, the second is that Literature from its media appearance and the way of narration draw merits of images, thus Literature bears some characteristics of visual culture, the third is that the mass media Break the order of Literature genre and bring about a new domain of Literature.The third chapter discusses the different function the mass media play in Literature communication and the problems they have to face.We can sense the rise and fall of literature in the supplement,yet the newspaper supplement is not the main channel of literature communication.The Literature peviodicals are the most systematic and dominant form of the Literature production and communication, but they are under many challenges in the ability ofproduction and the effect ofcommunication.To expand'distriSution, minute the market and develop the famous brand are the right way for the periodicals'development. Literature Becomes a kind of speciaC consumer goods in consumer society, Consuming factors often overwhelm the aestheticadty and the sense of mission in the text.THe imagination and creation of Citerature are also diluted.
