| Network-based collaborative design (NCD) is a new design pattern. During this process a design team devises a product concurrently and cooperatively, aiming at team work, and aided by a distributive collaborative environment provided by computer communication network. It's an epoch-making revolutionary to traditional design pattern, and it will radically shorten the time to market of a product, raise the design quality, reduce the design costs, improve the service completely and enhance the key competition ability of an enterprise. For this reason, NCD has become a hot spot of researcher and enterprise research.Sponsored by China national 863/CIMS project "Event-based Integrated Quality System Modeling and Prototype Technology Research" (No. 863-511-9844-012), Heilongjiang province CAD application project "Furniture series of Products Computer Aided Design" and project "the Network-based Product Design Center of Furniture Manufacturing Industry" (No. 2001BA201A0605), which is a subproject of the Tenth-five National Key Project "Network-based Manufacturing Platform" (No. 2001BA201A06), this thesis made a systemic research on some key technologies of NCD, such as the network model, the collaborative design-supporting product data management and the evaluation of collaborative design quality and so on. With the furniture industry as the object of application, this thesis applied the research achievements to furniture enterprises, established the platform of the NCD in furniture manufacturing industry and settled the base of network-based design for furniture enterprises. This research has important theoretical significance and practical value.The major works of this dissertation are described as below:1. By making a systemic analysis of the connotation, working pattern and its function requirement of a NCD, the researcher put forward the framework of collaborative design system based on multi-agents, analyzed the key technologies need to be resolved of NCD, and presented these key technologies of this research.2. Aiming at the data security of present distributive collaborative design environment, after having analyzed different collaborative design network models separately based on local area network, wide area network and Internet, the author advanced a VPN-based collaborative design network model which possesses the advantages of the three models above, and verified it by experiments. The author also made research on the security of this model. It indicates that VPN-based collaborative design network model is an economical, practical and secure network platform for collaborative design.3. By analyzing the requirement of the product data management (PDM) system which supports the collaborative design and the common conformation of PDM system, the thesis pointed out that a Web-based B/S structure (WebPDM) should be taken by the PDM system which supports the collaborative design, and indicated the system structure and the function of a collaborative design-supporting WebPDM. The author have made special research on the furniture encoding system according to the circumstance of those furniture enterprises, and advance a new method fitting for the parts encoding of the components and parts of the furniture product.4. This thesis briefed the modeling method and process of the event-based integrated quality system of the manufacturing industry. And put forward the system structure of the event-based integrated quality system, A prototype system was achieved. Because of the distribution of the collaborative design, it is very important to evaluate the quality of collaborative design. The thesis studied the quality index and system of evaluation, explored the theory and methods of the evaluation system for the quality of collaborative design, raised a method named comprehensive multilevel fuzzy evaluation of the quality of collaborative design and established its mathematical model and process model, and finally demonstrated the evaluation process by an example of fuzzy eva...
