A Clinical Study On Chinese Medicine Associated With Acupuncture Therapy For Women's Menopause Depression

To investigate Chinese medicine associated with acupuncture therapy for the treatment of Women's menopause depression in the clinical efficacy.There is no doubt that one of the most frightening symptoms of the menopause is the depression that many women suffer. The effects in menopause that women have are rapidly increasing in these recent years. Then to cause us care for it and try to find a best therapy for that is important and necessary.Why so many menopausal women experience the depression, it is a variety of theories and still under debate. But all known about is the physical changes in the time of the women'menopause such as the declines of the oestrogen and the serotonin level drop, as well as they face additional stress then that condition changed leads to depression.ObjectiveMenopause depression is seriously affected to the women's life in the civilized society, therefore the therapy of the women'menopause depression is very important and meaningful, I start to study and try to find a best, effective, economical and safe treatment for it, and to research and prove Chinese medicine and acupuncture can make a good result to remedy the menopause depression. In mainland China or abroad countries have a lot of reports about the symptoms of menopause depress such as the manic espisodes, anxiety,, mood disorder, lack of interest in activities, insomnia, lost of memory, etc., the high morbidity is affected by the change of theIn the Europe and United State is 20%. The Bei Jzing province of our country is 36.1% and the rate is rising. My study in the this repective is as following. ResearchThe efficacy of Chinese acupuncture and herbals decoction therapy for female menopause depression.Methods90 cases of women's menopause depression clinic patients aging from 41 to 60 years were randomly divided into three groups, each group 30 cases. The trial group acupunctured alternately the Points by needle:Shenshu (BL23), Ganshu (BL18), Xinshu (BL15), Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Shenting(DU 24), Benshen GB 13), Sishencong(EX-HNl), Neiguan (PC 6), each day.The purpose of this acupuncture treatment is to tonify the liver blood and nurishing the kidney-yin/yang and kidnet and replenish blood and activitie the channels and collaterals and balance the yin and yang of the body' spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical aspecys of lifeOne treatment continuously and given a decoction at the same time. The decoction is consists of the herbals of Shu di (Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata) Yin Yang Huo (Herba Epimedii); Long ci (Dens Draconis); baked Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae); Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba); Dan Shen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae); Yu Jin (Radix Curcumae)::Gan Cao(Radix Glycyrrhizae Praeparata); Ba yue zha (Fructus Akebiae). These herbals with the purpose to promote the essencel of kidney which can lead to producing marrow. And to comfort the heart which are associated with the spirit and blood vessels and also associated with mental processes. So the symtoms of emotional distress, dizziness, palpitations, shortness of breath and lack of vitality in face. And sweating restlessness, irritability, absentmindedness, and insomnia and the flushed feeling and night sweating are all related the two control groups were only given Chinese medicine, or the acupunctureThe symptoms of depress according to (HAMD and DSM-IV) associated with the examination of FSH,E2,5-HIAA,NE,DA, in the Medical Laboratory to observe the results after finished the whole treatment of 8 weeks.ResultsThe three groups were able to significantly reduce the symptoms of depress (p<0.01). And the synergistic combination of the acupuncture and Chinese medicine is effective and faster ConclusionThe acupuncture group and associated with Chinese medicine group and the control group of the Chinese medicine only also have significiant result, FSH,E2,have good affection (P<0.05) in the therapy of femal menopause depression. But the combination of acupuncture and medicine, the HAMD is significantly down in the 2 weeks therapy, to compare with before treatment (P<0.01). It shown out that the combination group to improve and contral the menopause depression with synergistic is more fast and effective for female menopause depression.
